Most recent state poll came out last night. Lexington girls ranked #1 in D2. And I believe they actually have been winning some meets by coming in first.

Weekly updates:
From last weekend's Tiffin Carnival, Mt. Gilead finished second in the D3 race with two in the top ten. Ontario and TC finished 3rd and 6th respectively in the D2-B race. Lexington won the Div 2-A race by 30 points.
New polls came out this week. Lex girls are still #1 in Division 2.
Galion CC Festival this coming weekend usually draws most of the area teams. Any teams going elsewhere to keep an eye on?

It is officially tournament time for cross country with conference championship meets this weekend. Here are some projections based on virtual meets from Milesplit.

A couple decent races possible in the SBC Bay and Lake divisions. I am intrigued most by the battle between Bellevue, TC, and Shelby as a former NOL matchup. Shelby struggles after 3 and the health of their number one has been an issue this year. Ultimately I see it coming down to Bellevue and TC.
I think we can assume the Lexington girls will run away with the Ohio Cardinal Conference title. Virtual meet predicts them scoring 17 points and winning by 52.
The MOAC teams have not been updated on Milesplit so no projections there. Buckeye Valley appears to be the class of the conference though as they are currently ranker 14th in DII.

BV has a freshman that has broke all BV records. And 5 of their top 7 are freshman with a sophomore also part of that top 7. Could be a very tough team in 2 years.

Congrats to the Bellevue Lady Red on winning the Lake Divison, their 7th consecutive conference title It's so impressive that Bellevue is consistently able to get large numbers for most of their athletic programs. We were amazed at the size of the Bellevue cross-country team. Earlier in the season, the number of girl golfers at Bellevue (18+) was overwhelming. I find it frustrating because in my daughters' classes, we can't get those numbers, despite the fact that we're a larger population. It seems as if it is the same kids playing everything. We do have a large music program, and a lot of extra-curricular activities (non-athletic) that students are involved with. But it seems we have also have a lot of athletes walking the halls who do not participate. And if you look at our athletes, many are involved in those other extra-curriculars as well. Is it tradition? Is it laziness, lack of parental involvement or support? The kids and parents we do get out are usually very involved. Would socio-economics play into it this much? Just wondering what the take is of others?

Ontario's Soph Grace Mauer finished 2nd at Tiffin, 1.5 seconds behind Lexington's Carina Weaver. Ontario's top 3 girls were only bettered by Lexington's, but their depth caused them to fall just short of moving on as a team.

For Lexington:
Both Boys and Girls were State Champs in 2015 Both Boys and Girls were State Runner-up in 2016 Both Boys and Girls are State Champs in 2017.
Is that a first?
