Basketball starts in just over a month so I figured we could start the discussion.
It'll be interesting to see how the conference plays out this year with a lot of the teams losing very good players. I'm not sure which teams have players that will be able to step up and fill the role. Notable players that graduated: Craycrafts (PL), Rayburn (NU), Wallace (RV), Ellis (MH). North Union will probably be the team impacted the most because all their games depended on him.
As of now my top 3 for the conference would be Ontario, Clear Fork, and Buckeye Valley. Ontario is always good, Clear Fork will benefit from returning their best player and being in a much weaker conference, and Buckeye Valley returns a first team all conference player (probably the best returning player in the conference) and are always well coached. I assume Galion, RV, and NU will finish at the bottom. Galion returns almost their whole team but only won 3 games last year and lost by an average of about 20 pt so it can't get much worse. RV only won 4 last year and gets a new coach. North Union graduates their best player by far and I don't think their freshmen and JV have had success recently so I don't see them being very good.
What are your predictions? Which teams will be able to replace their best players? Which players/teams may surprise us?

I'm told Ontario got an interesting transfer. The best player in the Sophomore class of an N-10 school, that was on their varsity roster last year.
They will be VERY young, but talented. Return 1 starter and 2 more letter winners. Could eventually start 1 Senior, 3 Sophs and 1 Freshman. This year's Freshman had a really good summer of AAU ball. He averaged 19 PPG, made 90% of his free throws, 74% of 2-pointers and 42% of 3-pointers last year playing PG for the 8th grade NOL Title team. Good size in the the potential starting line-up 6-7, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2, 5-11 who can all run the floor. The 6-7 could be the best 3-point shooter. Lack of experience, only 2 Seniors on the team, and not a lot of talent off the bench will be a problem.

Do you know who the kid is or what school he came from? I am assuming Colonel Crawford, which won't make Dave Sheldon very happy.

Do you know who the kid is or what school he came from? Don't know his name, thus not saying the school. I'm just shocked such a thing would ever happen. It wouldn't be the best player the CC Sophomore class, his older brother was a star there.

Just went back through n10 rosters and other than the C.C. boys only 2 other freshman from the league seen enough varsity time to call them best players. And neither of them transfered to Ontario. Guess we will see who this mystery kid is once season rolls. Stats wise only 5 freshman seen significant varsity time last season in the entire league.

Did not say "best players". I said he was the best player in this year's Sophomore class at an N10 school. Just repeating what I was told

N10 had 11 freshman on varsity rosters last season and CC had 4 of them. US had 2, Carey had 1, Wynford had 3 and Bucyrus had 1.

Do not see a player from Ontario in the top 105. One player from Crawford listed - no other N10 players. Prep hoops Ohio is a very reliable HS basketball rankings site. www.prephoops.com/…/prospect-rankings/2020-rankings/There’s a lot of high school and grassroots basketball left to be played for the kids included in our 2020 Prospect Rankings. Some players will play their way up the rankings, while others will digress and fall out. As of right now, we have 105 prospects from the 2020 class who we’ve seen enough from to believe they’re future college hoopers. Only the Young kid from Upper and the Stone kid from Carey played any varsity to speak of. The younger Vent brother quit team half way through the season. The three freshman on the varsity roster from wynford were not on the floor much nor was the kid from bucyrus. The C.C. kids played quite a bit. So that being said mystery leads me to think it's either from wynford or bucyrus. 😎😎

It happened when they were playing old lady card games together. Not knowledgeable. 99% of the top bridge players in the world are men. They make 7 figure incomes, with zero expenses, every year during a 30+ year career.

Browley from Harding is best returning player out of schools already in moac, idk anything about new schools. Sounds like Ontario will be the favorite. I expect rv to be at the bottom, Harding torward the middle. More depth this year probably. Bv always pretty good, NU probably down. I'm not sure about galion.

Do you know what kind of number Browley put up last year? I really only paid attention to Ellis when Galion played Harding..... I wouldn't be surprised if Harding finished in the top 3. I think they've been top 3 every year and since the conference isn't very good they could very well do it again.... Galion will probably be with RV and NU.

I'm not sure on his numbers, but he was the second best player. Harding will return drake facione this year too I believe, he didn't play last year because of injury in football. Browley was second option to Ellis, but there was nights when browley dropped 20+ when Ellis couldn't get it going.

You don't need much to win a lot in this conference right now.... just did some quick research and he was MH second leading scorer with just over 10 pts a game

Pretty physical. I'm ready to see ontarios team tho.

He did leave. He went to Ontario. If it is indeed the Houle kid, this is the story that was told about him last year: Nov 23, 2016 0:28:29 GMT -4 Willard Fillmore said: The rest of the story. The kid's family contacted Balogh this summer wanting a guarantee he'd be on Ontario's Varisty if he came to Ontario. Balogh told them he couldn't even talk to them unless the kid was enrolled at Ontario first. Sheldon was talked to and imparted that the kid wouldn't listen to coaching. That being the case, no Sheldon, no Balogh. Research was done and it was determined he'd be on Ontario's JV team this year. Even though there are 2 Freshmen on Ontario's Varsity this year for the first time in Joe's 30+ years at Ontario. Thus, Oak Hill Academy 3rd choice.

This cannot be the transfer in question above as he never played for an N10 high school and is obviously not the best sophomore at CC.

BV returns the best player from old MOAC in Ethan Crawford. 1st teamer that missed about half the yr with leg injury. Predicting this league this yr will be difficult because of all the departures. BV and Harding will be near the top. Pleasant had some young talent so I'd put them next with NU. Gal and RV after that. Know nothing of Ontario or CF. BV a yr away from one of the best classes they've had in last 10yrs.
