I feel US lost a bunch from last season and Carey and CC returns almost everything so I could see a change at the top by seasons end.

I look for it to be a fight with Carey Upper and C.C. Bucyrus again is my dark horse😎😎. Dible from Upper, Mcreary from C.C. and Luzader from Carey vie for p.o.y. Not that it matters much but the Upper seniors are 86-15 while playing together since 7th grade.

I'm curious, out of the 15 losses you posted, how many came in junior high games before the N10 formed?

I was told 4 losses in 7th grade,3 losses in 8th grade, 7 losses freshman. 0 losses as jv. players and 1 loss last year as varsity players. Don't count out Bucyrus the young new coach Maddox is doing things to possibly turn that program around.

You are talking about a team over the last 20 years that has had 4 winning seasons. That could be a lot of unfair pressure to put on a first year coach one year out of college. Also I think the coach is named Mattix.

Turning it around from a 3-20 season and winning the N10 are slightly different.

Turning it around from a 3-20 season and winning the N10 are slightly different. As bad as the league has been the past two years it won't take much to ride to the top and challenge Upper and C.C for the league. You could swap 3rd-9th place very easy in this league.

Last season 3rd was 13-3,15-8; 9th was 1-15,4-18.

Quite a differences from 9th to 3rd last season in the N10. Upper Sandusky 16 - 0 Colonel Crawford 13 - 3 Carey 13 - 3 Wynford 10 - 6 Buckeye Central 7 - 9 Mohawk 5 - 11 Seneca East 3 4 - 12 Bucyrus 3 - 13 Ridgedale 1 - 15

Bucyrus starts the season against Galion. If they don't win that then I think they're in for another long season.

Go a little deeper than regurgitating the standings. There were multiple close games between teams 3-9 that could have changed the order of standings significantly. Bucyrus could have very well been as high as 4th in standings and Carey could have easily slid to 7th.

Regurgitating standings? We can look at the scores if it makes you feel better but we all know that in many games when the winner is decided, coaches remove players and the score after that is irrelevant. It's about the win.
You must also be the football fan whose team scores 2 TDs late in the 4th quarter and saying we only lost 30-14.

But there were many games decided by 5 points or less and 3 overtime games. Hardly irrelevant to the closeness of terrible basketball of the 3-9 teams in the league. Like I said they are virtually interchangeable except maybe Ridgedale thats a stretch. 😎😎

Understood but the fact that a school has 13 league wins and another has only 1 means they are very far apart regardless of how many close games they play. You may be able to swap 5th-8th to make your point but that could be true for many leagues.

I could argue it was Upper by itself last year and 2-9 were blah. Is it a coincidence that in the former NCC this unheralded senior class had 7 losses, but in the N10 only 1 which was to a WBL team. Says more about the quality of the N10 to me. Can't count freshman a whole lot, too many players playing up. Also, wouldn't that record include the Adams kid who is no longer there. And last year they would of had the 2 time N10 player of the year? With all that said, Upper is the favorite again.

Upper was by far in the front of the pack last season but without question Carey and CC ahead of the rest. With Upper losing what they did to graduation and transfers I could see them as a top 3 but I think there will be a new N10 champ this season.

Practice begins today. Any significant injuries of players to keep them off the courts to begin the season? My royals will struggle some this year especially early with all the football players missing to start. Best sophomore in N10 not an eagle = Josh Crall Look for Josh to have a big season. Kid can shoot it and is very mentally tough. Carey brings a lot back - I look for them to have a chance to play spoiler vs Upper & CC. Upper is the top dog until someone proves otherwise.

Haven't heard of any injuries as of yet. Mostly bumps and bruises from Fridays football games. Looks like Carey will be the only one behind the curve. As far as Crall I see him 3rd or 4th in that sophomore class behind the Young kid from Upper and the Stone kid from Carey and possibly Vents younger brother if he came out for basketball(will find out Monday lol). Looks like area teams are stepping up competitions in their scrimmages ahead of the season heard Upper is playing perennial power Vinton County on Nov 17th.And Crawford playing Paduca Franciscan. Anybody else know of good scrimmages? Hopefully basketball will be better in this league this year.

Agree. Evan Young (Upper) Hayden Stone (Carey) both coming off very solid freshman seasons should have impact on the league. The Young kid is really good. And Stone I heard is now 6’7. Is Mason Vent going to play? He certainly would help Upper with his size / athletism. Especially with the players that they lost from last yrs team. Good to hear both Upper & CC are scrimmaging tough top level teams. Would like to see someone post the scrimmage schedule with times / locations. Heard 3 bits of info last night at an OSU party One of Crawford’s sophomores (Feichtner) has a cast on his right hand & forearm. Obviously broke something. The McCreary kid took several college visits this Fall with two of those being Dayton and Purdue. Nice to see a local kid getting some D1 looks. Was told the older Loy who is at Bowling Green is #1 backup QB and is on full scholarship. Great to hear.

royalballdad, It is always great to hear or see a local boy/girl do great at the next level of play weather it be D-1,D-2 or D-3. My oldest had a chance to keep on playing football with Muskingum but he did not like the coach, he love the university so he stayed there for his education and he got a great one. My youngest had some D-1 offers but as soon as he wreaked his knee to where the doctors had to put a cadavers ligament in, that's why we as call him dead man walking, the offers where not there anymore. But he still has gotten a great education. That is why I always tell the kids get the most out of your talent and keep striven for your best. Plus get that education and make the best out of that to.

Who wins the league this year? Who is early front runner for p.o.y? Does anyone challenge Upper this year or so they roll of another 16 in a row? Which team improves the most... As others have said. Will come down to Upper Crawford & Carey. Upper lost the most but also have a solid core coming back. Carey will have the tallest player and will return several seniors with experience. Crawford returns three seniors who have a lot of varsity experience along with their four returning sophomores who all played key roles and saw significant minutes in CC run to the District Champ game. Plus from what I heard will have another Frosh see significant varsity minutes off the bench. If Crawford doesn’t un-seat Upper from the top spot this season. They will certainly get it done the next two season with all their young talent. Bucyrus will be better but still struggle to get out of the basement of the league. Should be better than Ridgedale and may compete with Buckeye & Mohawk Buckeye will also struggle with not much returning accept the younger Loy. But should have enough coming back to beat Mohawk Bucyrus & Ridgedale. And possible give Wynford & SE tough games. Ridgedale will probably finish at the very bottom with what they lost and not having much returning. Seneca East could give the top teams some trouble if they aren’t taken seriously. Solid group coming back and look for them to have some Frosh contribute at the varsity level. As that class had some nice talent and size. Look for them to battle for the league’s top spot in a few years. Mohawk has a few players returning that have some skill just not sure how much overall skill they will have as a team. They could finish higher then I have them but certainly will struggle vs the top tier teams. The Royals could be competitive with their size. Unfortunately they will struggle at the guard spots with not much ball-handling accept for Crall. If they can find some shooting and another ball-handler they could battle for the 4th spot with SE in the league standings. I see the royals to be better than Mohawk Ridgedale Buckeye & Bucyrus. 1A Upper 1B Crawford 3. Carey 4. SE 5. Wynford 6. Buckeye 7. Mohawk 8. Bucyrus 9. Ridgedale POY: Dible (Upper), McCreary (Crawford) and Luzader (Carey) battle for this award. The team that wins the League will determine the POY. At least it should.

How does this competitive balance arrangement work? I see some of the numbers that get added to your actual enrollment.

Due to the size of the schools in the N10 I doubt the CB was much of a factor.

Just got Uppers scrimmage schedule. Riverdale 11/11 home Vinton Co./ River Valley 11/17 home Vinton Co./ Western Reserve 11/18 home @ Genoa w/ Margaretta 11/22. @ Ontario w/ Huron. 11/24. Not too shabby of a group to prep for the season. Interested in seeing how good Huron and Ontario will be. Genoa has a really good power forward who can get to the rack. Vinton has the reputation and a 6-10 kid who's just a monster from what I hear. Riverdale, R.V. and Western Reserve don't look like the have much. Rams should handle them. Think the Riverdale scrimmage is more or less a practice.😎😎

I think Galion may be able to beat them this year if they are as down as I think. Thanks.

They've won 3 Districts in the history of the school, and 2 were in the past 2 years. Winslow has done a nice job at U.S., but you really need to reign in the spin. He doesn't need you to hype his scrimmage schedule, or anything else that he has or is trying to accomplish. Plus, and you're lousy at it.
