Carmen did the same thing though. Big miss for Osu. Carmen said Dabo told him Meyer was getting old, he might not be there for his entire college career. Urban is 53 Swinney is 48. Imagine what he tells players being recruited by Nick Saban. He's got one foot in the grave being 66.

Yabba Dabbo Do told him Urban is a Rolling Stone and Yabba Dabbo is right. Yabba Dabbo owes Urban a lot, Urban personally helped Yabba Dabbo end the term "Clemsoning", now Yabba Dabbo walks right into Ohio and steals it's "best" player. Awesome job.
I hope now that Emory Jones is off to FLA the Red Viper of Vegas is in the mix to compete for the starting job as a Redshirt JR or SR. Or at least see the field haha.

Woodbey flips to 6-6 FSU. A decision I personally can’t respect. Should have decommited before. But Osu got tyreke Johnson and a few others. Go bucks.

His announcement literally took an hour and 25 minutes. Unreal. Odd decision too, Taggert has only been there a couple weeks and just started talking to them recently.

I watched part of Woodbey's press conference and the pre- part via a twitter feed,,,man what a joke. That kid was all about how many followers he could get via the suspense. It was sad and for his parents,,it was cringe worthy almost. "look at me"
Odd choice is the understatement of the year,,,it wasn't 11th hour ,,it was an 11:55 hour decision with the short amount of time spent on campus and speaking with the head coach,,and btw only a handful of coaches are even hired yet at FSU and only a handful of recruits. With a decision like that you'd think the kid would wanna know his DB coach and D- coordinator,,especially going clear across the country.
In this day and age, a few kids are totally into the 'shock value attention",,,,I almost think that he'll wake up in a few days and ---wonder, "what the heck did I just do?"

Some of these kids are basking in the bright lights and limelight of the moment, not a afraid to trample on any agreements or understandings established. It's all about their self absorbed, 'what's in it for me' attitudes.
It's difficult to fully quantify the utter magnitude of losing a kid that grew up virtual minutes from Ohio Stadium. I've been told this kid has the real potential to be the next Anthony Munoz, a rare find these days and a tremendous loss for the Ohio State University.
Carmen stated his primary reason for spurning his home state and signing on with Clemson; he felt there woud be 'less pressure' at Clemson. Most great athletes thrive on and relish the challenges of 'pressure'. The Bosa's come first to mind......

Going clear back to the tweets from Carmen regarding benching the starting QB in favor of a backup,,,and then openly questioning the OSU coaches on twitter with their reply,,,,you almost knew this wasn't gonna go well in his recruitment. Good player, but we have to re-group and get someone else.

Last night was a letdown if we are being honest. There are some flaws in Ohio states recruiting process and they need repaired.

Too many people getting hung up on just two players, Woodbey and Carmen. The class is still #2 right now and we have the highest average per player. The class is still absolutely loaded with studs, as was last year's class, and the class before that. Going back to last spring Carmen was already making comments that would suggest he would go somewhere other than Ohio State. There's still more players out there that haven't signed yet and OSU has about 2-3 spots still open.

Too many people get hung up on this class rank. We have all seen top 5 guys fall on their face and let's not forget that Zeke was a 4 star running back and not top 5 at his position.

Agree with the class rank as well. Clemson was ranked 9 in 2015, 11 in 2016, and 16 in 2017 but yet they're the defending national champs and in the playoffs again. But it doesn't hurt either to be in the top 5 each year, sure helps your chances, lol.

The more stars, the more drama,,,goes with the territory potentially. When a 5 star commits a year in advance , it's almost not even a real commitment. When it comes from a long distance like L.A.,, it's even more precarious. I don't view it as a screw up on OSU's part, this is 100% kid initiated. jaiden Woodbey wanted drama and attention--he got it. Jack Carmen never really wanted OSU to start with I don't believe. It happens. Just because he is from Ohio doesn't make him property of OSU by any means. Brenton Cox, this kid ended up going to GA his home State, can't fight that decision. Emory Jones, the kid wants to play in 2018, much better chance at Florida than OSU. These are kids, and they are doing what's best for them and their situation. It sucks to lose four 5 stars like this, but chasing these caliber comes with it's pitfalls too. Glad we have 45 days to bounce back hopefully.
If you focus on who we did get,,,man it appears to be a Great Class,,top to bottom might be the best yet from Urban,,time will tell. I know this,,,not a single kid on our committed list is a middle of the road talent. To me, that's what you shoot for in the long run.

Ronburgundy and Buckeyekid, have things in good perspective. Even with the painful disappointment of losing a kid that would assuredly have an immediate impact. We have a great coaching staff that recruits as well as any in the country. As RB mentions, there are still some great players to be had, to add to this outstanding class. We want players who really want to be a Buckeye and are thrilled to get the opportunity to prove themselves at this high level.

Growth and development are always the unknown factors. That 5 star might have already reached his "peak" - which still is obviously very good but that 4 star might be the key for the future. Always a crap shoot just like the NFL draft.

Trevon Grimes is now with Florida. Said he needs to be closer to home because of family health issues.

Perhaps there will be two final spots in this years class. Would like to see them fortify their slim lead over Georgia for the top recruiting class.

Ohio state lost out on Jackson Carmen but may be making up for it tomorrow with 5* and #1 OT Nicholas Petit-Frere. Also a chance they land LB Javonte Jean-Baptiste.
Rasheed Walker could also be in play tomorrow. Haven’t seen as much on him but NPF has all the crystal balls for him going to Ohio state.

The countries #1 offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere will play his college football at Ohio State!
A five-star recruit out of Tampa (Fla.) Berkley Prep, the 6-foot-6, 272-pound Petit-Frere also considered Alabama, Florida, Michigan and Notre Dame, and took official visits to each school.
More good news.....Coach Greg Schiano is staying with the Buckeyes!
Keep your fingers crossed for 4* defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste and 4* tackle Rasheed Walker, that will announce between OSU and PSU at noon today.

Ohio state offered the #2 ranked QB for 2019 who was committed to Texas A&M who then decommitted from them last night. Something to keep an eye on.
Not recruiting news but the buckeyes also added taver Johnson to the staff to replace Kerry Coombs. Great addition, he was the DB coach when Malcolm Jenkins was here.

I think you are referring to the #1 pro-style QB in the class Grant Gunnell. He is 6-6 212 and a strong arm. Things have been unraveling at Texas A&M for several years now.
