Looks like Ohio State is making things interesting with Darnay Holmes as well, one of the top CB's in the country out of California.

Former ND commit, Pete Werner makes it official....he's a Buckeye! Werner is a big (6-3 223), physical OLB that should contribute immediately on special teams. Urban beat out the Wolverines, Penn State, Tennessee, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Ole Miss., for his services. I don't believe Werner was ever a serious target for Michigan. I could very well be wrong though. He's a nice upgrade from Simmons who I think is under sized and neither Michigan or Ohio State caliber. I don't think Werner is an athletic specimen but he's a big LB that likes to hit. You can always find room for someone like that.

I have to strongly disagree with your assessment. He has all the tools to be a great ILB. All reports he has exceptional lateral movement and pursuit, has a high intellect and work ethic, to absorb the game at it's highest level and be a leader on defense. He is a physical hitter and reads and reacts to the proper gaps and is equally adept at pass coverage and running sideline to sideline. He is presently 6-3 230 and will most probably put on additional muscle under strength coach Mickey Marotti. I have a great feeling with this kid. A four star athlete, that has the world of potential to be special.

Shaun Wade reaffirmed his commitment to Ohio State tonight which was huge. He was also named the Gatorade POY in Florida.

Shawn Wade firmly back in the hold and the Darnay Holmes revelation is incredible. It was assumed he would be staying home and committing to UCLA. This Ohio State recruiting class is scary good!

Michigan folks were certain Donavon-Peoples-Jones was firmly in their grasp. Not so fast, looks like the former 'Michigan lock' is not quite so secure. Ohio State has made inroads in his recruitment and Urban Meyer, Kerry Coombs, and Zach Smith braved a snowstorm Sunday night to visit Peoples-Jones before the start of the NCAA recruiting dead period.
It has been announced the five-star receiver from Detroit Cass Technical, will officially announce his decision Thursday night at 8:30 pm on ESPN.
Peoples-Jones will decide between Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida State, and Florida. Jeremy Birmingham of landof10.com reported Sunday night two sources told him it's a 50/50 fight between Ohio State and Florida State. Here's hoping Birmingham is right, that would bode well for the Buckeyes.

My gut feeling on Jones is Michigan, even after reading all this other stuff. We'll see Thursday I guess. I don't really care either way, we have Grimes and Lindsay already committed plus Brendon White who could be a receiver if they choose.

Jones is going to Michigan. When you schedule an announcement you always need a #2, #3, etc. What fun would it be if there wasn't a second hat on the table lol....

Well, no surprises there. I think the #2 is that 6-5 receiver and I can't think of his name or where he's from at the moment.

I meant Jones needs a #2, #3 on his list of teams to choose from. OSU, Florida State, etc. are just being mentioned to add bit of drama to the decision.

Oh, oh, I gotcha....took a while for the light bulb to come on....lol Any thoughts on the Torrence Gibson transfer? I know all through this process of his suspension, Urban has let it be known the athletic dept. had no issues or complaints with Torrence. The university front office does however. I think he has been skipping classes for one thing and beyond that who knows. He signed a LOI with a Mississippi Jr. College and my question would be, is the door open for a possible return to OSU at some point in time? I would imagine his departure adds another recruiting spot, or maybe that recruiting spot had already been made available when he was suspended from school?

Ryan Shazier 6-2 205, Darron Lee 6-2 205, Jerome Baker 6-1 202, coming out of high school. Give scholarships to players that size who REALLY DO run 4.4 40's. THEN turn them over to an Ohio State weight program and they are molded into LBs, who become first round draft choices.

Airports were closed, imagine a coach making $6.5 million a year, braving the nasty elements to talk to this kid and his family. If our chances were slim to none, don't think this trip would have happened.

ALSO, Jeffrey Okudah #1 CB, #7 overall will announce at the US Army Bowl, but has already told Urban that he's coming to Ohio State.
6-5 210 4* #1 WR in Ohio, Jaylen Harris from Cleveland Hts, says Ohio State told him a spot will be held for him if he wants in. The question is if he wants to be in the same class with 5* WRs Trevon Grimes and Tyjon Linsey.
Ohio State should make the final five of 5*, overall #3 prospect DT Marvin Wilson

Just read an AP story that Hairball at TTUN is blaming three in-named coaches for spreading a rumor that he is considering leaving TTUN for the NFL. Says these coaches are doing this in an effort to hurt his recruiting by making potential players think he won't be there. Does the man take responsibility for anything? It was the refs for the OSU loss, now it's "three un-named coaches" for potential recruiting losses. Geez, maybe he should run for POTUS or Congress -- they all blame someone else for their failures as well!

I don't have access to the article or message board, but apparently Steve Wiltfong had some good things to say regarding Ohio State and Darnay Holmes. Seems like things are still trending well with him.
Urban must be thinking he's going to lose several secondary guys to the draft to be trying to load up this much on CB's.

OSU got a commitment from Kendall Sheffield, a DB who transferred from Alabama a few years ago and went JUCO and was considered a top DB coming out of high school and now one of the top JUCO Db's. Could be a starter from day 1.

Well, Lost tyjon Lindsey, personally. He's replaceable opens up a spot for a bigger receiver. But Lindsey is a playmaker we coulda used. Maybe decommiting because deciding didn't wanna leave the west or he seen new faces added to zone 6 yesterday and didn't think he'd play soon.

Yeah I'm guessing Lindsey saw Eric Glover Williams move to WR and Brendan White, who just enrolled in classes this semester, has also hinted at being a WR. A lot of people thought he'd be a LB possibly.

I wonder if Johnnie Dixon calls it quits, he hasn't ever had any significant playing time mostly due to constant knee injuries. I could see him being one of the players that leaves the program to get the numbers down.
