No doubt about it. I understand the potential is there with Wiggins but you had to take proven performance over potential when you had an aging LeBron and a 3-5 year window to win titles imo. There are plenty of guys who have the tools but never make the progress to be all-stars and we haven't seen Wiggins making the progress we expected. LeBron, Kyrie and Love brought Cleveland a title. LeBron, Love, and Isaiah T might snag another if the GS juggernaut slips up, and/or the Cavs trade the Brooklyn pick for another major piece. You have to assume that once LeBron is gone the days of the Cavs being a title contender are over.

With Wiggins instead of Love, the CAVS don't have a Title. Wiggins won't be better than Love until after Lebron is too old.

Cavs win a title if they have Wiggins their first match-up with GS. Cavs win a title in the first match up with GS if Kyrie is healthy. No way Wiggins makes up for Love AND Kyrie. GS knew that, that's why they knew they had to sign another super star to win a title last year.

No doubt about it. I understand the potential is there with Wiggins but you had to take proven performance over potential when you had an aging LeBron and a 3-5 year window to win titles imo. Kyrie would’ve been a great bridge between the two. Just a few years ago the Cavs were set up with 3 potential superstars, each about 5 years apart in age. That’s the formation of a solid team/Dynasty for 10-12 years. Now we’re looking at being a poopy team again after 1/4 of that time if Lebron leaves. At the end of the day, like you alluded to, Cleveland won a title with Love, so I’m not complaining at all. At all. Here’s a good purely speculative question. How good are the Cavs right now if Lebron never came back? Worse, I’m sure, but Next year? 2 years from now?

we've moved (3) #1 overall draft picks since LeBron came back

That's why, I think, LBJ keeps sticking to one year contracts...so the front office can't think long-term at the expense of going all-in for a title this year. I understand the wisdom of building a solid team/dynasty ala the Spurs. I just don't think that's gonna fly with a late-prime Lebron. And like it or not, LeBron has major influence on every Cavs move. Personally, as a fan, I'm fine with that. Gimme the Cavs in the Finals every year that Lebron is here and then tank for a rebuild when he leaves.

Looking back at that 2013 draft, that wasn’t a very good draft...until you get to The Greek Freak at 15. A lot of teams passed on him, but imagine for a second a lineup with Irving Wiggins Lebron Antetokounmpo Talent wise, Lebron could’ve rode off in the sunset in CLE, sandbagging titles well into his 40s.

Anteokounmpo is an absolute stud.
This years PER at the moment(I know, small sample) Harden--------------------------30.55 Anteokounmpo--------------------30.42 LeBron--------------------------30.29 Curry is #4 Davis #5 Westbrook #10 Love #12 Kyrie #13 Wiggins is #194, behind K Korver and under the league average. Of course that's deceptive because we know he's in a slump and PER doesn't really reflect defense, which the Cavs sorely need.

Who wins one on one contests between him and Love and Irving? If there was ever s perfect "no contest" it would be those contests.

The Cavs have been unwatchable the last few games. The schedule is getting harder. I hope we can compete against the NBA elite this year.

I think the Cavs are just too old this year to make a late playoff run. Who knows maybe I am wrong but after watching many games this year they are really up and down and have very rare spurts of greatness. No matter what though whatever the Wests produces in the finals will be the NBA champ again.

The trade deadline is Feb 8th. The Cavs have the assets to make some moves. Gilbert either makes LeBron happy or they part ways.

I think it's time to thank Lebron for the title he brought us and to say goodbye to him...again. The drama and soap opera atmosphere is driven by Lebron, who isn't willing to commit to anything for next year. Save the draft picks and let's prepare to go into rebuild mode.

We’re 5 games in with IT so I don’t think it’s time to give up yet. The East is still the East and the Cavs might be able to compete. I wouldn’t move the draft pick for a short term player unless it was someone really special that might be here 2 years.
LeBron won’t leave unless the Cavs stop winning in the playoffs.

Right now, We're still leading the Central Division, And we're still the #3 seed in the Eastern Conference. As horrible as the Cavs have played lately, we're not in a bad position, may be a bit older, but not all that bad. I think the Cavs players need to quit complaining and just play to their best of their abilities, Especially LeBron. There are other teams that wish they were our position. Lebron is gone after this year, And I still think Love for Wiggins was a very bad trade for us.

Big Trade today If you look at this way
Kyrie and Channing Frye and their #1 for Clarkson and Nance

so...in (2) trades Altman has made the Cavs biggest threat in the East (Boston) significantly better by trading Kyrie to them, and helped the Lakers clear enough cap space to go after LeBron and Paul George next summer by trading IT to them
AWESOME JOB

Cavs definitely didn't just sit by and watch. IT/Frye/1st round pick to LA for Clarkson/Nance. Then moved Shump/Rose/Crowder and got Hood/Hill back in a 3 team deal with Utah and Sacramento. Also sent DWade back to Miami for a 2nd round pick. Wonder how Lebron feels about a few of his boys getting dealt? This team can win the East, but I have no clue what it means in terms of the future (do these guys have large contracts...expiring contracts...etc).

The Cav's protected themselves whether Lebron stays or goes. They got much younger (3 plus) and also they traded away little but dud's... Crowder was a stiff and a disappointment, Frye was ancient and slow, Shump couldn't stay healthy, Rose (see Shump), Wade (great player just not in the CLE) and Thomas whether he comes back to form or not is yet to be seen but at 5' whatever and NO defensive skill he was not a fit for Cleveland. For those whining about Kyrie at this point they got Jeff Greene, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance for him we'll see how it works out... To get Hood was big for this season and beyond... Hill may help at least more than Shump did on the bench injured... Good day for the Cavs imo... Just wish they got a rim protector..
