Shelby made their choice. They are lucky they are not looking for 7-8 games for next year. Maybe the parents and players should question their admins first? Lucky? How’d finding a replacement for Shelby work out for the Bay teams that tried? If they had they wouldn’t be driving to Shelby this year. It worked out for everyone. All that changed is the SBC looks petty and weak for excluding Shelby from division honors. They left the league - hence no league honors. Facts.

So you’re suggesting Shelby administration called the SBC and said we are leaving the league after the 2017-18 school year, one year BEFORE we start in our new league. I’m guessing they probably said we are leaving after 18-19, but the SBC retaliated by telling them they were out immediately. Someone can correct me if it didn’t go down that way.

For the record, I couldn’t care less about the situation. I stand on the sidelines no matter where Shelby plays, no matter who they play, and whether they are playing for a league title or none of the above. Someone goes down after a hit and doesn’t get up I go out regardless of uniform color. I just think what the SBC is doing is bush league, IMO.

The league bylaws are two years because it is a hardship, especially in football, when you leave your former league-mates hanging. They said they are leaving in 18-19 for all sports, except football. They said they would know about football after an upcoming MOAC meeting (was dependent on North Union getting into their new league). They said, if we get in, we are not playing SBC schedule in football but if we don't we'd like to stay in for football only. SBC said - there was precedent for this already with SMCC. You're in or your not - all sports. Shelby indicated they knew the potential for not having a league in football but still wanted to withdraw for all other sports. They were approved for withdrawal from the SBC (all sports) and then found out they didn't get into the MOAC for football until 19-20.

Do you really need to be approved for withdrawal?

Do you really need to be approved for withdrawal? I was wondering that myself Dude. Who's to say that you signed a contract that you have to stay for another 2 years or we will take you to court and make you stay. I don't think there's a judge in his right mind will have that in his court. I've been wrong before but I really don't think it will happen.
