These boys from Shelby are on a mission. Expect Massillion to host this game.

Someone on a different post said that Massillon was renovating their stadium so it most likely will not be played there.

Massillon will not be hosting because they are also in the state semi-finals.

Site hosts were already contacted Wednesday. I assume AD's already know where they are playing this week.
If Black River and Eastwood both won, Clyde would of hosted that game.

Masssillon would be a great neutral site for this game. Perry Stadium in Massillon has good size. Field Turf was installed in 2014 Home side Visitor side Perry Stadium was originally dedicated in Fri. Sept. 12, 1958. The seating at that time consisted of an 1,000 seat home bleacher on the north side of the field and track seats for the visitors on the south side. In 1961 a new home side was built on the south side of the field that sat 2,200. In 1970 once again the home side was moved back to the north side of the field as the exsisting visitors stands were split and put into the east and west endzones and a brand new 3,200 seat home bleacher was built. Perry Stadium's capacity was 6,400 and stayed that way until the old visitors stands (once the home stands from 1961-1969) were torn down and replaced with new aluminum bleachers in 2003. Then in 2006 the home side was revovated with aluminum, more ailes, a new press box and additions were added to each side of the exsisting home stands. The old endzones were torn down and replaced with new endzone bleachers that the bands now sit in. The current capacity for Perry Stadium is 6,700. This figure would have been more, but due to construction codes, when the home bleachers were renovated the ailes were widened to bring them up to code. In doing so one seat per row was lost. While the home side gained in total capacity 150 seats were lost in the renovation process.

I’m already begining to enjoy the Big Red perspective on this game. Shelby’s lines aren’t big/physical enough. Won’t be able to stop the pass rush. Too much speed for Shelby to handle. Clinton-Massie will be a more respectable challenge. Not so much that it’s disrespectful, but dismissive. I like the Whippets chances. I’m sure plenty of bulletin-board material is created this week.
By the way, much respect to Bellevue. What an amazingly consistent and tough program! So glad it came down to old NOL rivals. My Mom reminded me of an 8-6 last-second Bellevue win for the title some 55 years ago when she was in high school.

Shelby will surely get their gut check this week. As much as I hate to say, no one in the area has given Shelby a tough competitive game all year. We will see if these guys are the real deal.
I am going out on a limb, calling an OT win for the Whippets 35-28.

They said the same thing last year...and Shelby rolled up well over 400 yds of offense. Difference in last years game was the turnover/TD right before half, the 90+ yd TD pass by Big Red when Shelby had them pinned deep in their own territory and Shelby dropped TD pass. Other than that, not a big difference between the two teams last year.

Being one of only 4 teams left has to account for something, shouldn't it? Just a bit confused on this thought.

Good luck to the whippets! I love seeing teams from the area do well. That goes for St. Paul too!

OSU2016,
When I say we will find out if they’re the real deal, meaning this is the first game Shelby is playing where the expectation is not a blow out. No offense to any of the prior 13 teams they have beat the hell out of. But none of them were going deep into the playoffs.
Shelby hasn’t played a schedule like Steubenville, hence the we will find out if they’re the real deal.
They also made it in by far the easiest region in their division, but that isn’t their fault.

He opened his recruitment a few weeks ago. I think Fleck was possibly flirting with some other QB's, and Armstrong was a strong Virginia lean early on.

He was on a recent podcast via Richland Source where I believe he mentioned pursuing only football collegiately. He will graduate next month in order to enroll early for Spring Football. Well, at least that was the plan for Minnesota.

Well, at least that was the plan for Minnesota. That's still the plan - graduate early and no baseball. Hope this isn't a distraction this week for him or Shelby. Need to focus on the Big Red and that's it IMO.

I'm hoping that since he has 'shut down' his recruitment, the laser-focus is on the Big Red. I'm sure it will be, as they know what's at stake. Friday can't get here quick enough!

Hey sportsnut explain to me why Shelby had starters in when Bellevue tried onside kick with what .20 to go in game up 42 - 21!!
Who cares if Bellevue gets ball, Shelby has game won!!!
Another place for starters to get hurt!!!
Did you see Armstrong get leveled!!!
Speaking of the quarterback, poor timing on changing where you are going, you have a big game Friday!!!!
