I think the point is that SP never faced any adversity during the season. When they got down last night 20-7 you could tell Flyers knew it was over for 2 reasons. 1) they hadn’t played from behind all season. Yes, I know Mapleton was up but nobody thought SP was losing. 2) SP was just physically dominated by Minster. Nobody on their schedule even remotely matched what Minster brought. 7 divisions is too many. Different topic I know St. Paul definitely ran into a very good football team, there is no doubt about that. And there is no shame in getting beat by a team of that caliber. My point is that they don't see enough good football teams in the season that will somewhat help prepare them for when they do a see a good football team. Lets be real they didn't play a good football team until the final 4 this year. You can say whatever about PG but they are not a traditional final 8 team. This division is a joke in my book anyway, there should only be 6 divisions, its all about making money, they will spin in that more teams get in so its better, and I somehow agree with it I know that's contradictory, but its too watered down, too many teams traveling 100+ miles (see wayne Trace) only to get their buts handed to them 56-0 or whatever it was. Is that really good? St. Paul is a good football program, with coaches that know how to coach, but they can't simulate what they are going to run into at this point in the year. You say it is for the money, and maybe to some extent it is. I say its for the kids. If you asked any player if they would like to extend their season/career one game but theyd have to travel 100 miles and probably get their butt kicked or they can just turn in their equipment Im sure most players would choose the former. I, like many played 4 years of football and never made the playoffs. Week 7 would come along and the season was already over for us. I wish I could have experienced the feeling of a playoff hunt. Im sorry that 7 divisions is a joke to you. Im sure if you asked any player they wouldnt see it that way.
