Huron did not "wee-wee" a few buckets away at the end. If you mean the beginning of the fourth quarter, then yes. Huron led, 49-35, after three quarters before Margaretta started the foirth quarter on a 11-0 run. It was 49-46 with 5:40 left.
Margaretta was also within 54-51 with 1:45 left and had three chances to tie the game, but committed two turnovers and missed a 3. The game wasn't even decided until two free throws by VanCauwerbergh with 7.1 seconds left (and even that was a 1-and-1).
Yes, Margaretta is a completely different team without Angelo Frias, but I could see them still finishing in the top two of the league. Will anyone be able to get Vermilion? Who knows.

I heard one of the baldridge brothers will become ineligible starting next week.......any truth to that? I know there are kids in MS and HS struggling with grades and the coach does tutoring sessions to help with any kids struggling. Let's hope that is not that case with one of the Baldridge brother, that would be a huge blow to the team.

Final: Huron 53 Port Clinton 31, Tigers 2-2 (2-1 Bay). 16-5 Huron after 1, Half 29-11 Tigers, 42-19 Huron after 3. PC spent an awful lot of time, dribbling and passing the ball, trying to look for an open shot. Mean while the clock was running, and the Redskins were getting further behind, Just keep dribbling and passing, Help Huron shorten the game.

I agree. Margaretta just does not have the horses to be good without Hilton or Frias

Despite oak harbor being down 19-5 midway through the first quarter they gave vermillion a heck of a game. A missed travel call with about a minute and a half left with oak harbor down 3-4 could have really changed the game as after the missed travel call they shot 2 free throws making the first and missing the second but getting the offensive board and scoring putting them up by 6 or 7 now with near a minute left . one different call and Oak harbor may be the top of the SBC right now. They also struggled to shoot last night only making 2 three pointers all game and there best shooter struggles from behind the arc in the second half since he sat most the first half with foul trouble, but now Oak harbor is now 4-2 and vermillion is 5-1 , these might just be th best two teams in the conference as i think oak harbor has the bet shot to hand vermillion a confrense loss this year

The 2 weeks of play around the Christmas break always provide upsets, and NEAR upsets. Too many distractions, lack of routines. Teams often overlook an opponent as well, and this could have very much been the case in this game. Looks like an early lead, and then relaxation mode? Credit O.H. for scrapping back in to it.

The hour bus ride and oak harbor kids also having exams wednesday and thursday could have played a factor in the slow start. Oak harbor has beat good teams in Genoa with 2 potential D1 athletes in Jacob plantz and Drew bench, along with a huron team they were not expected to beat. It had looked as if oak harbor had slowed down vermillions fast pace play on defense and played very solid offensive although they shot very poor. I think oak harbor has a chance to beat vermillion in there own place

Willard is also getting better fellows...let's not forget that detail... Both can be true: 1) Willard played 3 disaster teams in a row. True. 2) Willard will get better under the leadership of Joe B & Hirsch. True. Hopefully all players are 'in good standing' per the above and we can continue to improve. Oh I'd so love a competitive Willard basketball team again.

Huron, Vermilion and Edison will be tough but Willard's starting 5 are solid and they can go to their bench for some scoring. They are looking good right now.

Looks like $ball and jakemak, even though I was rooting for you to be right, were overestimating the Flashes.
Oak Harbor 16 Willard 2 end 1q
Looks like the Flashes must have played 3 tomato cans for wins in a row. -_- sigh

Edison 65 Huron 54, Huron looked tired, flat, and played with no enthusiasm. 22-8 Chargers after 1, 37-25 half, 49-39 Edison after 3.

I was told that Broc baldrige (6' 8" and leading Willard in scoring) did not play tonight against oak harbor was benched for the game and then quit after the game? Is there any truth to this. I'm a Willard guy but didn't make the trip to oak harbor because I knew it was gonna be bad either way but obviously worse if broc didn't play
