The DL played as advertised. Seemed like every play there was at least one USC OL getting humiliated. USC WR #80 is a clown. Opening fumble, and terrible play on the ball on the pick 6, yet he’s signaling 1st down like a clown late in the game they are losing 24-7. Even though he finished with decent stats, he was a major factor in the early 1st half lead for the Buckeyes. Darnold had some beautiful balls and nice touch on a few throws, yet on others, his throwing motion looked like Uncle RICO. Regardless, hard to be a solid QB, when the DL was so dominating. 8 sacks and a few big fumbles and under almost constant pressure....a solid preview of next season if he ends up in CLE Which happens to other QB's and they ALWAYS get blamed, even though teammates or play calling are problematic.

Glad I turned if off and went to bed at halftime, Doesn't look like I missed much. Saw on eSECpn sports center, Urban say "JT Barrett IV will always be part of the Meyer family". You have not been paying attention again, that's about the 10th time Urban has said that about JT.

Thanks JT. Next man up. Please! Agree 100%, if the "next man up" plays 75% as well as JT considering ALL important qualities of a QB, I'll be happy. Did anyone see Darnold's eyes after he was sacked a couple of times early and threw his INT? I knew he didn't have it "inside" him to win this game.

Where was this stellar defense against Iowa and Oklahoma ? They should retire #16, The greatest quarterback in Buckeyes history,That had to stay for 4+ years, Cause he wouldn't get drafted and still probably won't. If he don't, Urban will find a place on his staff, QB coach ?

Ha, of course I’m in Ohio currently. To be honest, college football fandom is not anywhere near as big in SoCal. I know a bunch of people who went to SC, but only about 2 that are football fans. Most couldn’t care less. However, I did send several texts last night during the game to those two friends.

Urban says JT has one of the best football minds for a player he's ever seen. Most would agree he had to, to overcome a "noodle arm".

The Iowa game was just about being smacked in the mouth by Iowa’s O and never hitting back. Plus having your offense turn the ball over a lot doesn’t help

In this game Barrett completed a higher % of his passes than Darnold did. Barrett had 2 TD runs to 0 for Darnold. Darnold didn't throw a TD pass. Barrett gained A LOT more yardage on the ground than Darnold. Barrett had ZERO turnovers to THREE for Darnold. And Darnald will be #1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. After Ohio State went up 24-0 I KNEW, which you could not grasp, that the game plan changed to call NO plays which could result in a turnover and keep the clock running as much as possible. All that was required in this meaningless game was win by ONE point. Thus far the Big Ten is 5-0 in bowl games, making Ohio State look better than the "consensus" +1 believes. Ohio State beat their rival, as well as #13, #8, #4, #2 and lost to the #2 seed in the Final Four. As everyone knows, the mystery is Iowa. You wanna bet $1000 that the "consensus" will be at the end of the season, that Ohio State is one of the Top 4 teams in the country? Come on chicken shat, step up and put your money where your mouthy mouth is. You also said in a previous post: "Urban is going to try to win this with his defense."
That is what is known as " TRESSEL BALL". Urban is learning!

Denzel Ward made some great plays on that sideline. Thanks buddy! I actually think he hurt his draft position. Scared to show what he's got against a top rated pro style QB in a big game? Had he known how well the D line would play, I'll bet he would have played. Has any other player turning pro sat out his team's bowl game?

Fournette, Peppers and McCaffrey all sat out last year. It doesn’t affect his stock at all.

The "hanger on's" were concerned about losing their fair share of his contract if he was injured. They convinced him not to play.

Maybe he should have according to your way of thinking.

These clowns that think these are meaningless bowl games are not someone I would want on my team! So he goes pro to a bad team. That team is no longer in playoff contention week 10 of the NFL season, better pack it in and sit out because can't get injured what if I got a contract year coming up! Give me a break and play the game! I feel as though if you don't want to play in the bowl game that's fine you can sit your butt at home and watch the game on tv and not engage in "team" functions because obviously the team doesn't mean anything to you since you bailed on you "team"

Pros are making a lot of money. College athletes are not. That’s why they are sitting out bowl games. To guarantee they get paid as much as possible because you are always one play away from it being over

I can understand the idea of not playing and calling it a business decision but a part of me also feels at that point you have chosen to quit the team and should no longer be given "Player" benefits. I think that could be a school policy and D Ward should have watched the game from Columbus.

The following is a list of the top 5 schools when it comes to Poll era national championships (AP & Coaches poll only)
11 - Alabama 8 - Notre Dame 7 - Oklahoma 7 - USC 6 - Ohio State
In each of the past 4 seasons Ohio State has beaten each of the top 4 teams on that list, in the same order they appear on it.

If I we're an NFL scout, I would loose interest in someone very fast, when they choose to sit out their bowl game, they're privileged to be playing in. By sitting out, You've chose to demonstrate your lack of loyalty to your team. After being committed 1-4 years to a program, Now your gonna wuss out them. You obviously won't be committed & loyal to us either, Your employer. I get that, fear of being injured, But there are other things we need to see from you, Not just your talent on the field.

He practiced every day leading up to the game. No one ever gets injured in practice?? He didn't say he wasn't going to play until the day before the game.

My guess is; the majority of the players who opted to abandon their team, because they have had premature contacts and agreements with an NFL agent, if truth be known.

Ward being on the sidelines during that game was a disgrace. I don't know how in good conscience he would want to.
