The Twelve Days of Christmas, also called Christmastide ("Christmas time") and sometimes referred to as Twelvetide, is another name for the festive Christmas season celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. It starts on Christmas Day, December 25, and ends on January 5th.
It is a common misconception that the Twelve Days of Christmas are the twelve days before Christmas, coinciding with Advent and culminating in Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, however this is incorrect! Infact the Twelve Days of Christmas start on Christmas Day, considered the "First Day of Christmas.
Throughout the 12 Days of Christmas, I continue wishing store clerks, cashiers, friends and acquaintences a hearty Merry Christmas! It's rather humorous at times, the strange or confused looks I get now and then.
I leave up my Christmas lighting and display them till the Christmas season has ceased, on January 5th.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
For any of our friends of the Jewish faith, a belated HAPPY HANUKKAH! Hanukkah 2017 begins in the evening of Tuesday, December 12 and ends in the evening of Wednesday, December 20.

I just notice something here. Yes we say Merry Christmas because Jesus our Lord was born. But he was here for all men no matter what religion we belong to. He was here for Christians, Jewish, Muslims, Hindus, or what ever. To me Merry Christmas means Peace On Earth and Good Will to All Men. So to ALL my Brothers that fought beside me or have become my very close friends Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody.
