Yes it was a quote ,,but apparently you agree with it being as you quoted it. I took it as an offhand comment, and so did a few others. You're venting at the wrong people. We aren't your problem I can 100% tell you that. Did I clarify my stance regarding the PAC tax levy to straighten that out. so stone me and not death from above...why is that ? we are all entitled to an opinion just as you have yours...correct?

I spoke with death from above also. fyi
I'll tell you this much: It's BS comments like that, where Presidents lose elections. It's BS comments like that, where people don't get elected to the school board It's BS comments like that where donors with no children in the school change their mind about where they chose to donate. If you wanna press your luck and try and call people out with comments like that go ahead. But one thing,,I suggest you speak with Heather Slone first. I'm not looking for a fight from anyone, but I'm also not gonna let a comment like that go un replied to. You ARE entitled to your opinion, like you said, you can call out anyone you have issue with,,and you have. But---do not casually add people to your chit list.

Wyandot, I'm one of the farmers who you made mention of in a post yesterday. Your offhand comment "rich produce farmers are promoting the tax levy" was mean spirited and simply un true on multiple levels. I never said I was in favor of a tax levy for the PAC project. I said I was in favor of it being done first because I happen to think those students and people involved with that program also deserve a nice addition for their interests as well as the athletes do. You -Assumed- that because I said that, and my other post "it'll work out in the end" that it means I don't want to help pay for it via a Tax Levy. That is simply not true at all. I am more than happy to help pay my fair share on any project that is school based,,,I'm sure the other farms are too. I have a feeling that you have no idea how much $$ has been donated to WHS from these same farms and also Individually like myself,,both in the last few years and for the last 30 that I have been seeing it as an owner. If you question that fact,,ask Heather Slone president of the boosters,,,ask Joe Crawford,,,ask Cindy Schupp ask Chris Schaff. No farmer is looking for a pat on the back, but I guarantee it's not very smart to bite the hand of someone who are staunch supporters of the school. p.s. Heather is not boosters president..Julie Montgomery is...now whose uninformed

Some of those "rich produce farmers" have been very generous over the years to the Willard schools and the Willard programs. I would hate to see anyone bite the hand that has been providing some treats.

It’s funny how wyandot’s only response is who is the booster President. Like that’s even a big part of this discussion. To be honest, I can’t believe this is still going.

I think he may have misunderstood the point behind the suggestion of speaking to a specific person. I read it as way to become informed as to what may have happened in situations in the past.

Wyandot,,,well you've got me there. Heather has been my contact for awhile. She just texted me that she is involved with special projects and fundraising. I stand corrected on that note. That just shows how I am clearly on the outside looking in. I have no kids in the school anymore. I have no bad intentions or any kind of agenda. I'm just a guy who is a fan and wants to see my HS be successful and I try to help whenever an opportunity exists.

I'm not trying to get "anyone" or discredit anyone. Heather puts in a tremendous amount of time and should be acknowledged. My goal on this forum is to address every possibility of all solutions to make this school a great place to be again. It is not to make enemies or put down businesses or people. I think we all have a passion and an opinion. Its frustrating when there are a few who pick apart every post you make and try to twist your words.

To everybody, Buckeyekid and I have been communicating with each other and he pointed out some facts to me about this that I never knew about and if I could take my comments off this topic I would but I am old, very old and they never taught us anything about computers in high school. So what I am doing is a lot better anyway. I am apologizing to BK for my comments and I would like to tell everybody that there are some of these farmers and Produce Owners that do contribute to your schools and some that contribute more than what people really know. I have lived in other schools system that people, like some of you, really don't care about doing anything for the community and the schools but they where the first ones that ***** about this or that and how they are always being over taxed. Now I was brought up poor, very poor. My dad was a teacher and back in the fifties and sixties teachers did not get paid much like they do today and they did not have any health insurance for them let alone the family. Since their was six kids in the family dad, like every other teacher did back then took on a 2nd. and sometimes a 3rd. job. But my dad has always taught my brothers and sisters and I if we can not afford it then work it off. Dad taught us to volunteer, give back to the community and the schools this way can keep the cost down for the tax payers. If you can't afford to have your taxes go up, then get off your *** and help out like maybe building it yourself. What I been trying to say is everybody should chip in one way or another so please don't get me wrong because there are people on both sides that should be looking in their souls and see themselves on what they truly are. BK again I apologize and what to thank you for showing me on how wrong I was on somethings. Wife is calling me back to work again so I got to go.

No worries d-from above. There's always more to a situation than we know. You have some great points. Keep posting and sharing your opinion and perception my friend. Wyandot obviously you are passionate about your beliefs and your goals for the school are well intended I'm sure. I would encourage you to get your message across with a little more sugar and a little less vinegar if that makes any sense. Peace .

IMO...produce farmers suck and are poisoning Americans with their GMO's while promoting tax levies! Hey Jake, You want me to come over and show you on how to raise a garden. This way you can grow your own produce. After you till your garden you are going to need a lot of SHEEP DIP to help with the growing process.

I can't get behind another levy for a PAC, especially when Willard had a very nice one and decided to tear it down, nor could I get behind another levy for a field house. Willard is tapped out when it comes to asking its citizens for more money. I just looked at my property tax bill that I paid last month and 2/3 of it was for Willard City Schools. A PAC or a Field House isn't fixing grades within the school system and I would rather see a push for a large after school program to help kids who are struggling with their grades, not a sport. The extra money people are talking about had to be spent in a certain way according to state guidelines because it isn't Willards money or our tax payers money, it was the states money.

I have a hard time believing it won't pass. Many of the voters in this community are lured in by promises of rainbows and sunshine. The field house discussion was part of the "state's money" but they sat on it until they had it all spent. I don't think buying Buerle's house was a good investment. I thought they should have kept the BOE office where it was and not looked at spending another $250,000+ on something new. I'm sure the Buerle house cost them a pretty penny.

I know where its going but when? They are bidding it out now and I believe the paper stated they wanted to have a portion of it completed by the fall. I also saw where they are moving forward with a renovation of the school board offices. I’m curious about that topic because they just renovated the one they are in when they first moved in years ago. Is the plan to build a new school board office or perhaps use the weight room facility? Is it against the rules for the achool board to be housed under the actual school roof? If not, I would think you could save $500,000 on renovations and utility + insurance premiums that first year if they could be housed inside the new school, i’m sure there is enough room there.

Norwalk, when they started shuffling classes around to different buildings here, the school board moved into the former Benedict Elem. building along with some special classes. Willard could have done the same thing instead of tearing down all those elementary building.
