5 of NU's points came on foul shots with little time on the clock. 3 came with .02 seconds left before half time and 2 came on foul shots with 1.4 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. Ontario's Freshman PG is playing more minutes than the Junior starter. He's become a much better shooter and is taking care of the ball better. He had 16 points tonight and averaging over 12 PPG the past 7 games. IMO he will end up being the best PG in Ontario history. At the end of games when ahead, a coach sets up inbound plays to get the ball in the hands of the player he wants shooting foul shots. Balogh wants his Freshman shooting foul shots at the end of games. 6-2 Soph forward Jaydon Jacobs had 17 tonight on the inside going against NU's 6-6 and 6-5 posts. I understand NU has to play a zone, but if I was a coach and always played man, I would play zone against Ontario. They are not a good 3-point shooting team. Worse than at the beginning of the season. No one is shooting then with any confidence. Missing a starer, Ontario JVs came back from 8 down to win 39-32. Even though they only scored 3 in the first quarter and 1 in the 3rd quarter. Freshman Kurtz had another game over 20 with 21 of the 39 tonight.

wow ontario blew them out in the 4th All of Ontario's wins have come in the 4th quarter this year. Balogh keeps finding ways for them to win in the 4th after battling for 3 quarters

Ontario is decent but Clear Fork and Pleasant I believe are stronger teams this year. I’ve stated before NU doesn’t play with inspiration and take numerous poor shot selection and do not take care of the ball; it certainly doesn’t appear that they are coached anyway and my money is on the opposition in a close ball game.
The second times around you will see if profess is made. First game against Clear Fork was close and then blown out the second time due to adorementioned turnovers and bad decisions; a PG is supposed to take care of the ball and distribute and that doesn’t happen. The first time against Ontario was a close game and last night NU had a 4 point lead at halftime but I knew that halftime adjustments would be made by Ontario and they did.
If I were parents in JR High or Freshman, I would take a close look at this and realize transfer might be the way to go.

Transfer? Do you have many potential D1 college basketball players at NU? If you are a average basketball player in a small school with no success, why transfer?

The Shaver kid started yesterday, if that's who you're talking about. I think they said it was the first freshman to start for Balogh since the 90's.

There is only a 7 player rotation this year. In the NU game the Freshman played and Harris sat, in the last 4 minutes of the 4th quater when the game was on the line and the lead was stretched to 10 points. The only other Freshman to start in Joe's 33 years was Bryan Moloney. When he was a Freshman he was a 6-1 forward and tore his knee up at the end of the season. When a Senior he was the PG, put his team on his back and got them to Columbus, even though they didn't win their league title.

No need to transfer, wins will be easier against smaller schools in the league they're moving to. I thought NU's guards did a good job considering their inexperience. The younger the guards more turnovers should be expected. Ontario is having more turnovers than usual seeing their guards are a Freshman, a new Soph to Ontario and a Junior who hasn't played since a Freshman due to a leg injury, also new to Balogh's system. Pleasant, Clear Fork and Ontario have all been inconsistent, but Pleasant appears to have more talent and should be considered the favorite. Both Pleasant and Clear Fork have a lot more experience than Ontario. After Soph Cam Todd broke his leg in football I thought a .500 record was likely. Saying they're "decent" is a complement. They will be A LOT better next year even though they will only have 2 Seniors playing a lot. And even better in two years. BTW, I saw no "antics" from the NU coach or "bad behavior" from any of their players. And I was sitting right across from their bench.

I would assume he had to sit 11 games and it looks like Ontario is 8-3 right now.

EDIT: With all the weather reschedules, tonight's game against BV is Ontario's 12th game and thus the move in from Oak Hill Academy's first game eligible to play.
