Is it to early to start thinking about the rankings and matchups here and who will be the four to make it to willard?
Buckeye Central, Colonel Crawford, Crestline, Danbury, Lucas, Mansfield Christian, Monroeville, Plymouth, South Central, St. Mary’s Central Catholic, St. Paul, St. Peter’s
I also see now where the winner of the district will go East to Canton instead of BG. Dont love that

Just some of my thoughts. I think the 4 district representatives will be St. Pete's, CC, St. Paul, and a toss up between SC, MC, and SMCC. SMCC is the wildcard with the three additions to their team coming up. MC plays very well defensively and SC has some young kids who could make a lot of growth between now and tourney time. I think St. Petes and CC are locks with the other two spots up for grabs. I see St. Pete's going to the regional but CC giving them a really good game.

I think you hit the nail on the head on the top 3. St. Pete CC St. Paul
With everyone else rounding it out. I would go with CC getting to the regional over St. Pete. St. Pete is missing Campbell and it will be noticed in the District Final matchup.

St Pete doesn't seem to be missing Campbell very much so far being 11-0 and still has plenty of time to adjust before the District Final game.

St. Pete’s missing Kent hurts them more than Campbell. Especially for a tourney run.

Only thing stopping a Crawford/St.Pete final is if they both chose to be on the same side of the bracket come draw weekend otherwise I don't see anyone stopping this from happening.

SC with the blowout last night, I was shocked to see that. I wasn’t. Coach Smith has lost his team. Don’t think they make it out sectionals depending on the draw

Don’t think they make it out sectionals depending on the draw So, what changed for St. Paul, who was playing decent ball to start the year? 3 of their 4 wins are against Mapleton, Crestview and Monroeville, which have a combined 3 wins between the 3 of them. Nothing has changed

I went to the CC game tonight and came away thinking St Peter will be the favorite to win this District.

As I said after last season. CC would have a better shot at a District Title in DIII than DIV.

As it looks now top 4 would probably be St Pete, CC, South Central, Lucas
Still alot of basketball to be played and things could change

New to 2017-2018: The D4 Willard district winner no longer is going to the bowling green regional as in years past BUT.... to the 68-year-old Canton Memorial Field House which is home to the McKinley basketball and volleyball teams. Located adjacent to Fawcett Stadium. The Willard winner will be matching up to play against the northeast district and or Cleveland area teams. Looks like the Spartans vs Cornerstone Christian match-up with Micheal Bothwell "a 2016 division 4 player of the year" will be coming to us in the regional final on 3/16. See you all on the tournament trail. Richmond Heights is no slouch either. They will be playing Cornerstone in the district final

Does this change (increase or decrease) the Willard winners chance of seeing the Schott?

Cornerstone was at State 2 years ago when Bothwell was a sophomore. And their schedule is unbelievable (losses to St. Eds and Cleveland CC and Solon...and victories over Garfield Hts and St. Ignatius). I haven't seen St. Pete's play, but I would imagine it would be an uphill battle.

They made the same change for the Willard district on the girls side too. It's getting sent to the regional @ Massillon Perry. I see Crawford getting upset in Sectional Championship. D4 District Final - South Central vs Mansfield St. Pete’s St. Pete’s moving on to Canton Regional. Also see Wynford giving Carey all they can handle in the D3 Sectional Semi-final. Both Crawford & Carey are not playing right now as good as they were at the start of the season.

Bold there with the upset prediction, Its tournament time so anything can happen. There should be alot of fun games throughout this district.

OVERALL D4 CANTON REGIONAL Prediction: St. Pete's beats up on the little sisters of the poor and heads to Canton. Then they will meet McDonald who features the OHSAA's youngest player to ever collect 1000 points in #25 Zach Rasile 6'0 Soph. Now this should be a game the Spartans are favored in but it is for sure a coin flip whom comes out on top. If the SP makes it to the regional final for the 3rd straight year they will bump into the 2016 OHSAA D4 STATE CHAMPS Cornerstone Christian. Who features a wealth of athletic talent including two new transfers this year. The Patriots are lead by former D4 POY Michael Bothwell who will play his college basketball at Furman. and finally at the end of the season Joe Jakubick will step down as the Spartans head coach. From what i'm told from an Ohio Edison executive, Joe is quickly moving up the ladder of command. Prediction on next st. peters basketball head coach? ill go with SP alum J.T. Reese. Has there ever been a question if Joe was stepping down after this season? Reese does have a son still playing and could bring him with him.
