Just wanted to create thread where we can discuss everything new that happens between now and the start of next season. Coaching changes, transfers, summer shootouts, predictions, etc.

Are you expecting transfers? I just listed it as a possible topic. Galion has already had one. I've also heard of another possible Galion player transferring. I'm not going to post it until I get more info.

That would hurt the Tigers program a little.

You know where his AAU friends play. As I said this summer, they were trying to talk him into transferring. JMHO

Just a little...... Although, at 8-15 who would know. Oh........let me see.......if the Tigers went 8 and 15 this past year, and then a player leaves (and everyone else stays exactly the same); and the team then goes 6 and 17, I'd say his departure hurt somewhat. I just love people who condescend .

Condescend??? If anyone is doing that it's the player himself by taking a majority of the teams opportunities upon himself. My point was sometimes a team playing together as equals can accomplish more than a team trying to rely on one to carry them.

Of course you could have just said that in the first place instead of "although, at 8-15 who would know". Then there would have been no confusion as to what the point that you were trying to make was.

Of course I could have. I do always forget that many people are very thin skinned.

Alsip is the kid I was talking about. He has been telling teammates he's going to transfer to either Ontario or St. Petes. It would obviously be a very big loss if it happens.

Such as Jamie Feich, Marc Kreischer, Mark Huffman, Tim Davis, Adam Howell, Jeff Claypool, Rob Barkett, Punchy Carmichael, Chris Morris, Benji Hall, Tim Rinehart, Depries Owens, Ahmed Kent, Tom Dinger, Jerry Moton, Brian Beauford, Gil Ray, Ricky Minard, Milt Pitts, Doug Alt, Leo Brown, Marcus Butler, Brandon Speck, Joe Jacubick, Ryan Pore, Tim Dennison. ALL averaged over 20ppg. ALL took the majority of the teams opportunities upon themselves. ALL played THE major role on a team. ALL played for successful teams. ALL accomplished team goals. Play for a good coach, play in a good program, play with the right teammates. For the TEAM to be successful a player might have to average 25, in different circumstances only 15.

Half way through his high school career imo alsip should stay at galion. For one no other coach is going to let him jack up crazy shots like he does. he’ll be riding pine, at galion he can be the guy. every play, at other schools he’ll have to be a little more conservative.

That could be something a kid does not think about. Either team mentioned would take him with open arms and may accept his shot selection.

Tim Rinehart from Ontario needed 2 games to average over 20 points. What are you talking about?? "needed 2 games to average over 20"?? That's nonsensical, as are most of your posts. Don't be a lazy ars, do the research. In the 90-91 season Tim Rinehart scored 451 points in 22 games averaging 20.5/game. Maybe it's that you're incapable of simple division? Whatever the case, your desperation is an embarrassment. JMHO

Why would he want to go to either of them? YOU don't know??? You're the one that claims to know everything that goes on at ALL schools in North Central Ohio. Above you claim to have talked to Ontario alumni. I KNOW YOU KNOW Galion alumni. Just another of your snide put downs. JMHO

For one no other coach is going to let him jack up crazy shots like he does. he’ll be riding pine, at galion he can be the guy. every play, at other schools he’ll have to be a little more conservative. Think about it. Maybe he's tired of playing for what the vast majority in Galion think is a neophyte coach. Maybe he's tired of having to shoot so much to win games. Maybe he wants to play with more talented players so he doesn't have to average 20 and still lose games. Maybe he's come to the realization that he's not playing Div1 college basketball. Balogh has told his players that individual awards would come when your TEAM goals are met. Proven by: Matt Smith 15.2ppg 2nd Team All-Ohio, Bryan Moloney 14.8ppg 2nd Team All-Ohio. Tony Dorsey 16.8ppg 2nd Team All-Ohio. Lenell Shelby 13.8ppg District 6 player of the year. The games I saw him play this year, he wasn't just chucking up shots. Compared to what I saw when he was a Freshman, he passed more and played under control. JMHO

From what I've been hearing it sounds like Galion plans to keep their current coach. Pretty disappointing but not surprising.
