Thought it was interesting for the last two weeks how all of the so=called eSECpn expert analysts downgraded the B1G this season saying how it was down and it would be lucky to get four teams in the tourney, all the while pushing the ACC, Big 12 and SEC teams as usual. Then, once the brackets were announced, three of the four so-called experts had at least two B1G teams in the final four and two of them had everyone except OSU making the final four. Guess my question is and continues to be, if the B1G was down so much, how can three of the only four B1G teams be predicted to make it make the final four if the conference overall sucked so badly? Doesn't make much sense to me. BTW, two picked MSU to win the whole shebang. I also think the B1G screwed themselves over by going with the $$$$ to NYC and holding the tournament a week before everyone else did, thus allowing more of the wannabe's to get in and screwing over Nebraska and Penn State. Oklahoma is 4-11 in its last 15 games, really?

I'm not certain that the B1G screwed themselves with that. I'd like the opinions of others who know more about college b ball than I do, but I wonder if the week off might actually be a benefit to the B1G teams that made the field rather than going from the conference tourny straight into it.

B1G tournament needs to stay in the midwest. No one on the east coast or NYC cares about a middle of the country conference. Not many of us want to travel there anyway. I'd bet the attendance, and TV ratings were down. Playing it the week before was also another really stupid idea. Wake up B1G president.

The next 4 B1G tournaments will be going back to normal: Chicago 2019 & 2021, Indianapolis 2020 & 2022.
NYC this year and DC last year were attempts to gain further exposure in the east after adding Maryland and Rutgers.

Ohio State has a 2 week lay off and a plane trip across the country The team has to run a lot more gasers than usual for this time of year and Holtmann had to set up a scrimmage against Denison.

The lack of depth of the Big Ten has no baring on how well a team will do in the tournament. It’s about teams and players, not conferences. Gonzaga made it to the championship game out of 1 bid West Coast last year. Honestly think Purdue is a bit overrated. On the flip side I think Sparty and Michigan could win it all

South Dakota State put up one hell of a fight, but the Bucks survive the dreaded 5-12 matchup.
Now onto a tough rematch with Gonzaga.
It was also nice to see Loyola knock off Miami with a late 3.

In your brackets you should have schools that have blue as a team color. In the past 12 years 11 of 12 NCAA Champions had at least some blue on their uniform. The exception was Louisville and they've had their Title nullified.

^^And Michigan should have beaten Louisville. The Trey Burke block at the end was certainly clean and Louisville cheated. That would make it 12 in a row.

Does Syracuse use blue anymore?

I don't think so, but their uniforms in the 2003 championship game were orange with blue trim

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County
Holy. Crap.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County Holy. Crap. UMBC, a lowly #16 seed takes #1 seeded Virginia to the cleaners! UMBC shot 54% from the field and 50% from 3pt. range. This was a tie game at the half, makes me wonder what those percentages were 2nd half. Virginia shot 18% from beyond the arc.

What makes this even crazier is that it’s not like it was a close game that could’ve gone either way, they won by 20! Tied at halftime and end up winning by 20, unreal. And their point guard looks like he should be on the freshman team.

A big, big day for Ohio State basketball and OSU sports! The Big Ten Champions women take on George Washington at 1:30 pm on ESPN 2 The men tackle 3pt. favorite Gonzaga at 7:30 on CBS The Ohio State wrestlers, currently in 2nd place, try to overcome Penn State for a National title this weekend. A monstrous title match between Adam Coon of Mich. and OSU's Kyle Snyder is one for the ages.
(Somewhere in-between we'll find time to celebrate St. Patrick's Day...lol)

Is that the 3rd time Coon and Snyder will face each other?

3rd time this season. Not sure how many times they’ve faced each other overall.

Down goes Tennessee...that region has been nuts
meanwhile OSU has started off absolutely terribly against Gonzaga

I can't remember so many rim spinouts in that short period of time. Gonzaga is getting away with physical mugging down low and then Ohio State gets a whistle for a ticky tacky contact at the other end.

Talk about tough breaks (literally), Purdue losing Isaac Haas, their tall and rangy, starting center to a broken elbow. You don't replace a 7'2" 290 center that easily, but they do have a freshman center that's 7'3", probably not ready yet.

South Region:
1 seed out in the first round 2 seed out in the second round 3 seed out in the second round 4 seed out in the first round 5 seed still alive 6 seed out in the first round
and as I type this the 16 seed has jumped out to an early lead over the 9 seed

Are there any other fervent Buckeye fans, who have the ability to put favoritism aside when the Buckeyes are no longer in the equation, take off the Buckeye's hat and put on the Big Ten hat? I have done just that and have enjoyed two of the best games of the entire season watching the Michigan team. The Texas A & M game, the pregame panel itterated that A & M was too tall and rangy for the Wolverines to handle and we heard the same thing again this week vs. Florida State. They are playing great basketball at both ends of the court and the Mo Wagner kid has my total attention. Love this kid! The M vs. Loyola game should be another great one!

As an OSU fan, I’m still rooting for Michigan and Lima senior grad Xavier Simpson. Bring it home for the Big Ten, I picked nova to win it all tho.

As an OSU fan, I’m still rooting for Michigan and Lima senior grad Xavier Simpson. Bring it home for the Big Ten, I picked nova to win it all tho. I was convinced Simpson was going to single handedly, lose that game for them. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the free throw line, all season. Ball handling skills aside, that man is a glaring liability in the waning moments of a tight game. I would have sat his butt on the bench the last two minutes of that one.

Simpson is not a good free throw shooter. He is an excellent passer and good ball movement. He can score when needs to. Played good against a&m. His junior season he’s due for a break out.

Simpson is not a good free throw shooter. He is an excellent passer and good ball movement. He can score when needs to. Played good against a&m. His junior season he’s due for a break out. His free throw shooting technique is essentially flawed. His problems are not unusual, but players like him need their methods re-programmed. Even the broadcast commentators saw the obvious; pushing the ball, lack of wrist and fingertip action on the ball for proper back spin etc. As many shooting coaches as he worked with, Shaq couldn't overcome the massive hands he was blessed with, but made subtlety an impossibility. Still think I would sit him, when intentional foul time came around.
