Most mocks have the Browns taking either Darnold or Allen #1 overall. Curious to see which one our posters prefer and why.
Personally I'm all in on Darnold, Allen's accuracy issues scare the pizazzle outta me.

Allen reminds me off Kizer, so if you got rid of a similar player why draft another one?

I don't know but I see a lot of potential in Allen if the Browns can just leave him alone and on the sidelines instead of putting him in there his first year like they have done with every one of their first year QBS. Allen needs time and nurturing to be one of the best. I like to see the browns get better so they can give my Steelers some competition instead of these blow outs we been getting. But this is one way I see that it will happen along with better draft picks. That's just my opinion, I don't know if I am right or wrong but that's the beauty of our forum we can make our own opinion weather it's right or wrong.

I really like Allen because of the comparisons to Big Ben. He would be perfect in this division. But that poor completion percentage is too big to gamble on. I would take Darnold. He appears to be the best bet among the options. The turnovers do bother me but letting him sit and learn will hopefully help correct that. I will be happy with either one though.

Darnold had one of the worst TD to INT ratios in Div1 football. He was good in the left coast going against the easy PAC 12. Put him against Ohio State and he looked scared to death. What about the NFL pass rushers?

They won't be blocked by USC offensive linemen. Even Tom Brady crumples under a heavy rush. So does every QB. That is why pass rushers make the big bucks.
Darnold will probably never face a d line as good as OSU had last season in the NFL.

He still threw for 356 yds. I don't know which QB they will take and I'll trust Dorsey and crew I suppose. Give me Chub at #4 though and I'll be happy.

I’m taking Darnold. I just don’t think you can teach composure.
He got beat around all season due to a poor line. However, even when he was getting shelled by the Buckeyes, he still made throws that made you say ‘that’s an NFL throw’.
Allen, I have to admit, I just can’t peg. The accuracy issue is indeed an issue, but I was reminded that Favre had a mid 50s completion percentage his last year at Southern Miss. Allen has the measurables, that’s for certain, but you worry that he’s riding on the coattails of Wentz and players like Joe Flacco a little bit. Just because he’s from a small school, has a rocket arm and is relatively unknown doesnt make him certain, although he is intriguing.
I think the Browns go for the safer bet here in Darnold.
I can probably talk myself into liking any of the QBs, from Darnold to Jackson. Hard to find a hear where you look at 4-6 QBs and say, I’ll take any of them...but idk if that’s a product of talent level or the fact that the QB situation in CLE has been so terrible that it is swaying my judgement.

Maybe the Browns can set another record by being the first team to go 0-16 two years in a row. Then they'll get another wonderful first round draft pick. It doesn't seem to matter who's in the front office=lousy picks as no one seems to know what is going on with selections.

A) every team gets a first round pick unless they trade it B) this GM hasn’t even made a pick and you all ready think they he’s failed?

Allen or Mayfield is the latest gossip. My personal choice is Allen,,,I've liked him from the start. Seems humble and yet strong. Has a Cannon and a year to get it under control.

Today’s buzz is it will be Baker, honestly that’s a great pick. He’s cocky, but he’s a winner and has all the passing skills. He is going to excel. I was fine with any of the 4 QBs as I think they all are going to be good in the league. Whether it’s baker or Allen or Darnold you can’t miss at Qb.

Take Barkley #1 and Chubb #4 (or vise versa). We now have the 2 highest graded player's in the draft. Trade #33, #35 and #175 for #15 (Cardinals) or #16 (Ravens) and draft Lamar Jackson. We still have a 2nd (64), 4th (114), 5th (150) and 6th (205) rounders left. If Jackson falls maybe get him even cheaper. The risk is we don't get any QB's but in most mock drafts Lamar is not going higher than 15. I'm sure the Browns won't do this.

If they take Mayfield at #1, my career as a browns fan is over. I almost quit at Manziel. I will quit at Mayfield.

Mayfield would be your breaking point as a Browns' fan? Not Manziel? Not Weeden? Not McCoy? Not Spergon Wynn?

Good Grief I sure as heck hope the Browns wouldn't do this. For the life of me I don't see the stiffies for Barkley. I'll take 1 $100 bet that he's not in the top 2 in rookie rushing yards.

The Mayfield rumor is all smoke and bs. No way he goes #1. You're so fickle. You and your BFF Rambo, slobbered over your boy Mayfield the entire college season. Rambo spewed his stats and you sucked 'em up. Now you say "no way"?? Dorsey and others had the same concerns I did about Darnald, since the Ohio State game. Rumors were they were going for Josh Allen, until it was reported he's a bigger racist than you think sportsjock is. Corner back at #4 hmmm?? I won't say I told ya so.
