The new ruling on players standing for national anthem is worthless and stupid!! If you don't want to stand you can stay in locker room!!!! It should say if YOU DONT COME OUT AND STAND AND RESPECT THE FLAG, YOU HAVE LOST YOUR JOB!!!! To all you fools that don't respect the flag, pack your bags and go live somewhere else!!!!!

Dang. Didn’t know the President was on ncoast. Pretty cool. Btw, they aren’t protesting the stinking flag and it’s legal to protest. If it were white people that started this it wouldn’t even be a thing.

Maybe we should start this in High School. I remember when I was playing football way back then, we very seldom came out of the locker room for the national anthem and a lot of teams up here still don't come out until after the anthem has been played. Should we have a rule here in Ohio stating that high school teams must come out and stand still for our Anthem and the fans should stop where they are at and face our flag instead of running around, talking loud and laughing. And we need to show more respect for the flag, a flag that our young men have defended and some that have died for.

When you are on the clock and working for your employer, they have every right to dictate policy, especially when the employees actions are damaging to the good of the company (employer). Any attempt to inject racism into this argument is lame. It doesn't matter if you are white, yellow, black or purple, too many people of all races, gender and ethnicities have died to maintain our freedoms. This is one of those moments that commands solemn respect for our flag and our National Anthem. If one doesn't have the decency or civility to conduct themselves in a manner of reverence, remove yourself from the situation.

Tell me where it is written that the National Anthem and sports are connected. The national anthem was written well in advance if any type of professional sports. Sports and anthem don’t need each other. Also it isn’t in nfl players contracts or cba that require them to observe the anthem, so your work place comment goes out the window for that. Personally it didn’t stop me from watching the nfl last year and it won’t stop me ever. I watch sports to be entertained, not to worry about some made up debate about people protesting the flag. The NFL came up with this rule for one reason. They are paid by the military. All those military men and women you see holding the flag before games and on the field are because the military pays the nfl.

bighose, do you own a business?
Thinking of the NFL as just a sport is being very short sighted. It is a HUGE business. NFL franchises are worth a collective $100 Billion. If you own a business, you have the right to tell your employees how to dress, how to talk, how to act. If they don't do as you ask, you can fire them. Especially if their actions are costing your business to lose money.
In this case, the owners of this BUSINESS are not threatening to fire their employees, not threatening to fine them. As a matter of fact, the only one getting fined if this NFL directive is not followed is the owner of the teams.
big hose, what if you owned a business and your employees all decided to convert to Islam. Which means they MUST pray 5 times a day for 5 minutes each time? What would you do?

A) nope B) wouldn’t care. 1st amendment alllows religious freedom C) since you clearly know nothing about Islam the only prayer that would be during the work day would be the al-zuhr, which is midday and could be done during lunch D) you are so far removed from reality that you think calling me bighose is derogatory, which basically means bad. Save you some time from looking up in your thesaurus from1972

Save you some time from looking up in your thesaurus from1972 Since you clearly know nothing about business, allow me to educate you. Some have three shifts, "business" being done around the clock. An assembly line would have to be shut down if one person on the line stopped working to pray. Painted or enameled parts would fall off the chain coming out of the dryer or furnace if the person assigned to remove them was praying. Finished product would back up and be damaged if those responsible for it were praying. The Federal Government's OSHA would not allow a female press operator that converted to Islam where a burka. Freedom of Religion is not absolute. Stoning of women, sexual mutilation, polygomy, human sacrifice, burning witches at the stake. Sharia Law does not trump our Constitution. You see evil and dirt in all? I picture a fireman bravely struggling to hold on to a "bighose" with a powerful stream of water coming out of it working to put out a fire. You have such a poor memory you don't recall the many insults you have spewed my way, including using my my screen name to do it. I speak as spoken. I see you are no longer a chicken shat and a maturation process has led you to read all posts again.

Isn’t staying in the locker room a protest? It can be if that's what's in your mind. They key is, that's an option NFL management is giving to those who want to protest.

You speak when spoken to? When did I mention you in this thread? Why does it have to be a Muslim that stops and prays? A Christian can’t take a minute to pray while at work? I really don’t care what your opinion is because you’re the typical 50+ white middle to upper-class male in this country. None of what you are talking about has to do with the NFL anyways, which isn’t surprising because you can’t keep on topic to save your life. Lastly, what kind of sicko thinks about firemen like that?

Breaks come at specific times during shifts. Either assigned by management of negotiated in labor contracts. In either case never based on the Koran, in this country
Don't be silly. I said I speak as spoken to. Whether it was 20 years ago, yesterday, today, tomorrow or 20 years in the future.
All the time that a Christian needs to pray is a few seconds. It can be done during any minute of a 1440 minutes in a day. It can be done in complete silence. Sitting, laying down, standing on his feet or standing on his head.
You are a hate monger racist that admits to having the disorders of Gerontophobia and Androphobia. There is no phobias for fear of success or fear of other's opinions, but you have announced having those weaknesses as well.
YOU were the one who broached the subject of the First Amendment and Freedom of Religion...NOT me. As can be seen by all on here, once again, YOU fail to show the intellect to stay on topic.
You want to talk about the NFL and it's mandate about kneeling during the National Anthem? Chuck Todd, host of Meet the Press, is as big of a racist and as ignorant as you on the subject. On Tuesday he said, "The NFL has sided with their white fans over their black fans." STUPIDITY!! How many fans of any race are kneeling in the stands during the National Anthem? Is he suggesting that ALL black fans and ALL white fans are on opposite sides in this issue? Is he saying ONLY white fans are against kneeling and ONLY black fans are for kneeling? Are you and Chuck so ignorant to think that there are no NFL black fans that have served in the military and have stood at attention and saluted thousands of times during the playing of the National Anthem? Why must those of your ilk always race-bait, pitting an entire race against another race on issues?
Firefighters using a bighose
AGAIN, congrats on maturing to the point of not being afraid to read all posts.

That statement alone makes you an ignorant hate filled racist and Gerontophopic. My skin color makes me a racist?? None of my posts, like yours, have been racist.
I feel sorry for you that your life has not been as rewarding as mine. Obviously a reason for the hatred in your heart. A pity.
