Most Soccer players are short and quick, more like sprinters than distance runners. Most good cross country runners are long and lean, not sprinter types. Lexington has one of the best cross country programs in the state and they also have District Champion caliber soccer teams. If anything cross country takes away from soccer. Around here there are no Junior High soccer teams. Everyone has Junior High cross country teams The elite runners are long and lean but good runners can vary in build. Having a certain body shape isn't going to stop a student from joining a sport. Plus there are more athletes on a team than the 7 that line up for a varsity race. There are no JH soccer teams because you would need 11 people and more field space vs JH cross country where a team score needs 5 and some sidewalk or country road. Students tend to migrate towards the team ball sports when they are generally new. A reason lacrosse it trimming the numbers of track teams in schools that have it.

It was announced today that PC's Week 5 opponent, VASJ, hired Elvis Grbac of UM/NFL fame. Grbac was QB Coach at St. Ignatius past few years.

No. We dropped Sandusky and added Bellevue in their place. Playing Bellevue restarts an old rivalry that went dormant in the 90’s.

The contract between PC and Norwalk is up after this year (covered 2018-2019 seasons). Port Clinton is willing to play Norwalk in 2020 but has decided to pick up Perkins starting with the 2021 season. A decision on playing in 2020 is up to Norwalk we'll play if they want to.

is anyone else getting sick of the Lake division's whining? What did you do before this became a three division system? I have no problem at all playing "someone" else from time to time. IF you want everyone to play all SBC, then forget the Divisional play and lets become one happy monster league.. When I was a kid Huron used to play Elyria West, Maumee, ect. Now all the sudden we're scared kittens if we wish to play someone different.. I didnt know all the teams signed an agreement to cross over and play everyone on the other side of the wall...

I'm fine with Norwalk playing PC in 20, but if not, I'm fine just as well. Hopefully it will be schools somewhat close and competitive.

I thought it was great.. 90 minutes one way,,but it was outside our territory... we knew nothing bout them,, they new nothing bout us.. cincinnati roger bacon, another one...new nothing about each other, thought for sure we'd get our bells rung... wasnt the case... great game... it is fun to step outside the zone and see how you fair against competition from elsewhere.

Back in the day of only 4 schools per Region making the playoffs. Loudonville's coach got out of a league so he could schedule the majority of his games against schools outside their area, that didn't play each other. Thus, increasing the possibility of more 2nd level Harbin points. Once you get into your league schedule, in a 8+ team league, you can never get more than a total of 50% of 2nd level Harbin points against league opponents. As every school plays each other.
Let's say you go 7-0 in the league and the league records of the other 7 league schools is 6-1, 5-2, 4-3, 3-4, 2-5, 1-7 and 0-7. That's an average of 3 wins for those 7 games. If you play an independent schedule and 7 schools on your schedule don't play each other, all 7 finish 6-4 and you win each game, that's an average of 6 wins in those 7 games. Twice as many 2nd level Harbin points.

The conferences that each SBC division out-of-conference opponents come from (schedules according to Arbiter):
Lake 7 - SBC-Bay (Edison, 2x Huron, 2x Port Clinton, 2x Vermilion) 6 - OCC (3x Ashland, Madison, 2x Mansfield Senior) 4 - TCL (3x Start, Waite) 3 - TRAC (2x Fremont Ross, Toledo St. Francis) 2 - DCL (Belmont, Thurgood Marshall) 2 - MOAC (Clear Fork, Ontario) 2 - NLL (Maumee, Springfield) 1 - CCL (Independence) 1 - GLC (Elyria Catholic) 1 - Independent (University School) 1 - NCL (Padua Franciscan)
Bay 7 - SBC-Lake (Bellevue, 3x Norwalk, 2x Perkins, Tiffin Columbian) 6 - TCL (3x Bowsher, Waite, 2x Woodward) 5 - NBC (Fostoria, 2x Genoa, 2x Rossford) 3 - FC (Plymouth, South Central, Western Reserve) 3 - PAC (Clearview, 2x Firelands) 2 - N10 (2x Seneca East) 1 - Independent (Lucas) 1 - PTC-County (Ravena Southeast) 1 - SAL (East Tech)
River 7 - FC (3x Monroeville, 3x Norwalk St. Paul, Western Reserve) 6 - N10 (Bucyrus, 3x Mohawk, Seneca East, Wynford) 4 - NBC (Elmwood, Fostoria, 2x Woodmore) 4 - TAAC (Cardinal Stritch, 2x Ottawa Hills, Toledo Christian) 2 - BVC (Van Buren, Vanlue) 1 - NWCC (Hardin Northern)
Notes: - When combining all divisions, the Firelands Conference and Toledo City League are the largest opponents with 10 each, followed by the NBC with 9 - The Toledo City League is the only common conference the Lake and Bay have in common (other than each other) - Oak Harbor has 3 games against NBC opponents again *hint hint* - The River is the only division that doesn't have a single game against another division - Mohawk, Monroeville, Norwalk St. Paul and Seneca East only have out of conference games against SBC opponents
Anything I missed feel free to add or correct. Any takeaways?

Cab, you have 5 for OCC when it's 6. Also, are you "hinting" Oak Harbor is showing interest to the NBC?
