I am surprised by this score. How did this dead horse called Willard football, which has been dead for over a decade, and each year gets dug up and placed on the field on Friday Nights score so many points? I'm disappointed in the Trojans for having so much trouble with a dead horse. If you are in the know, and I am, then you'd know that Willard football didn't die of natural causes it was murdered. We conspired The top brass of Willard conspired to kill off Willard football so that the football players would join the up and coming Soccer program. This whole process was created over a decade ago, well before the Soccer Program started. We knew The top brass knew that people have a hard time accepting reality and that the Willard Football program needed to be dead for years before the fan base would accept the fact that it was dead and keep it buried in the fall. The Willard fan base keeps digging this program up out of its grave each fall and it is truly frustrating to us the top brass. The Soccer program wants those football players on its team. Willard can become the supreme Soccer Program in the State if Football is left in it's grave and all resources are poured into the Soccer program. No school the size of Willard has scrapped Football for Soccer. Willard would be the leader of the pack and dominate State Soccer with a whole school of kids grades 4-12 devoting their lives to Soccer instead of so many kids taking up silly football leaving just a small few devoting to Soccer.
We don't The top brass doesn't want to see this football program in 2019. Leave it buried. Stop assembling the sack of bones program back into a horse. It's a dead horse.

Willard Soccer is off to a 3-0 start this year with wins over Mansfield St Peter's, Marion Pleasant and LaGrange Keystone. Willard hosts Oak Harbor on Monday if you all want to come out and see the up and coming and future Premier Soccer Program in the State. Just stop digging up this silly football program each fall so all resources can be devoted to the Soccer Program. City demographics demand that the Soccer Program becomes the pride of Willard.

Yep I agree drug mart they may as well give it up and just play soccer. Willard football is the laughing stock of area football, they have embarrassed the once proud old nol. And it doesn't look like there is an end in sight. Meanwhile their alum is in norwalk turning the trucker program into a powerhouse. Former great thunderbolt coach now at middle school, and of course fox at high school. Keep up the great work Willard decision makers lol

No disrespect to SC, but I'll be a little surprised if Willard doesn't win this one by at least a couple of TDs. SURPRISE! Oh my!I really didn't see that coming. Well...here's hoping Willard can bounce back. Good luck to South Central in future games.

I wasn't surprised. I just figured that they would dredge up enough self respect and emotion to at least win their first game in the newly renovated stadium. It's going to be another long year for Willard. God help them next season when they bump up to the bay.

Willard taking on two FC powerhouses in back to back weeks!! SC has some athletes but they are not huge up front. There should be some scoring Friday, but I'm with Scott, I'll be shocked if Willard doesn't win by two touchdowns. Consider me shocked.

Without a doubt I just think back to the 80 & 90’s while being one of the smallest NOL schools they were an upper half program in both football and basketball. The FC was so bad outside of NSP, mville and AC. What a difference 20 years makes

Actually 40 kids is pretty close to the norm for schools your size anymore.

Willard could beat Madison What are you smoking? I must admit I have been intrigued by all the talk and buzz about this willard football team this year so I went over to the willard game to see for my own eyes what all the buzz was about. Being my team played (Won!) on Thursday night I thought what the heck, lets see if the hype matches the buzz. The first thing I noticed was there was no place to park when I got there, that is usually a good sign for the home team but sitting on the SC side I quickly realized that SC brought the entire town. Another thing I noticed, the sign that the Willard team broke through said SC was No Competition so they were looking past this team. The SC Trojans came to play and it showed by smacking the flashes in the chops by going up 20-0 at halftime. I asked the guy in the concession stand who the new kids were that transferred in and he said QB and the other kid is on the sideline. Someone who knows more about that will have to chime in because he said he didn't know why he wasn't playing. The flashes made a game of it though and stormed back to tie it and even took the lead. When the flashes deferred in OT I thought they signed their death certificate, and they did. My takeaways by burning 3 hours on a Friday night and $6 on the ticket and another $4 on popcorn and water, this willard team is okay. It is obvious to me that the kid that transferred back in is doing too much, playing QB and Safety is a lot to ask. The kid was okay, no Amstrong by any means. They had a tall skinny kid that took a couple slant passes to the house, we'll have to watch that kid when they come here to play. They also had another kid, #9 I think that was a speedy little thing and he got behind the defense a couple times for one touchdown but he dropped another sure TD with no one around him. I would give the flashes a 5 out of 10. They'll win some games but I don't see what all the buzz is about. I think the buzz after that game was for the QB from SC and numbers 15 and 4 for SC, studs. Willard has no running game and that will kill them this year. Trying to run your QB 20+ times in a game is scary. Good luck flashes against the big red, they are 1-0 and coming in on a high. I hope you don't come into the game against us 0-2, that won't be fun to watch.

I think he's confused with basketball That makes zero sense. Who mentioned basketball? Oh wait, there is that buzz coming out of willard by someone but now it is about basketball and not football. Had your flashes won you’d be on here spouting about your glory days of winning nol championships and how willard is back. i’ve saw your post and that is all you do, talk about yesteryear. instead you now move the conversation to basketball because you don't have anything worth saying about your football team. Lets stay on point here and continue to discuss football because once basketball rolls around i’m sure you’ll be talking smack without having a single victory under your belt yet. I can’t wait to put you in your place when that happens.

whippit,,what I cannot figure out is why you spend so much time on Willard threads period? You don't see a bunch of Willardites talkin shelby football or basketball. There was never any buzz being thrown about this years football team other than hopes of improvement. If you have a problem with me describing my experience from my NOL days,,put me on mute.

It sounds like you have ties to the willard basketball program, lord help your soul because you are living in the 70s and 80s. I have no plans to mute you, I will now find joy in this discussion heading into the winter.

Willard will struggle to win 2-3 games this season and what the hell is Willard doing still teaching straight on kicking? Its 2018 not 1950! You mean to tell me they can't find a Hispanic kid in Willard who soccer kicks that they can throw pads on and just kick extra points? If not I blame ICE!!!!! The only person to ever kick a ball straight on consistently was John Garlough when he was a coach but kick away Willard.

Tommy...I question your intelligence level every f'ing time you make a post...2 to 3 games? SC will win 6 games this year...Willard has minimum 6 more games they will be favored in...Willard starts 5 sophomores...and 2 seniors that never played a meaningful snap...the kid kicking was self taught...no coaching...happened to be the best at kicking PAT's...I believe he was 2 for 3 and 1 was a bad snap...find something meaningful to ***** about or shut your mouth!
