Listen here, I can't keep track with who is even in the Bay/Lake/River anymore, but there is one thing that remains constant: The Tigers will be the class of the league.
Huron looks to continue its dominance over the SBC and they have the talent to do just that. They bring back the best player in the area in Drew Wennes, who is at least 6'5 now and can shoot it from anywhere. Added additions of football studs Hinckley and Leh will bring an added athleticism to the tigers.
They will have to replace Hurst who was their stud last year, but certainly have the talent to win the league this year and potentially the state.

Huron did upset #1 seed Upper Sandusky in the tournament before losing the six-overtime district semifinal to Margaretta.

SO you are saying there are 4 games they cannot win, 10 games that could go either way and 8 games they will not lose.

Good thing I'm not the coach. Just not sure the kids are buying into Joes philosophy and coaching style. Not sure which kids are gonna play/be elgible, time will tell.

"Kids not buying in to a coaches philosophy" is common everywhere these days. Today's players want to run and gun all the time. Either chuck up 3-pointers as soon as they get across mid-court or drive out of control to the basket without looking for someone on the wing when double or triple teamed on the drive. Wasting possessions. They think they don't "look good" when having to run a half court offense looking for a higher % shot.

This statement is odd to me as a Willard Flashes fan and longtime supporter of the program. Help me understand why you feel like the kids are not buying into Joe's philosophy and coaching style? You have to have some inside information because just making a statement like this doesn't support your position without facts. Last year Joe was very calm and patient on the sidelines even though we were getting it handed to us in a lot of games. I could tell he was trying to develop the younger players with court time and it was hard for him to do that because he knew he was going to take some beatings in some games because of it. It sounds like you have some coaching experience otherwise you would not have made that "good thing I'm not coaching" comment. Tell us what you would do different because I truly want to know what issues we have because the season hasn't even started and you are slamming the staff already? Eligibility is and always will be a subject that coaches have to deal with. I know Joe tries to get kids that are struggling to come in so he can try and help them, says something about his style right there. Do you have a son in the program and can speak from first hand experience? Please, enlighten us all.

You are back peddling here but that's okay, we'll go with that. How are today's kids and families different, including yours? You've obviously been around the program or have a kid in the program and see some things you do not like, or your son does not agree with. So, what are they because you stated the kids are not buying into his philosophy. What is his philosophy that they are not buying in to? If you are saying you don't buy in to it, your son will surely never buy in to it because he knows you disagree with Joe's philosophy. I'm curious how you are thinking here because it helps me understand why this program has suffered for so long when I see comments made like yours on here. You are obviously not happy with the way Joe is coaching or what he is teaching the team.

Since some of you want to dissect my post, or better yet, twist what I was trying to say. Let me clarify. I question whether the kids (mine included) are willing to put in the effort required to be exceptional. I question whether the parents (self included) are able to stay out of Joes way and let him do his thing. In some respect, I question whether Joe can deal with all the peripheral BS that comes with being Willards BB coach, and still stay focused on the big picture while building relationships with the athletes and trying to get the best out of them. Ive contributed my share of skeptism to the last item listed. Its not fair to Joe, his staff, nor the athletes. I will do better going forward.

To answer your question, no the parents probably won’t be able to leave joe and Hirsch alone. Willard has always been known to have parents get involved, even back when I was there. And it’s only gotten worse in my opinion,

And also, I think they will be around 15 wins this year just based on schedule alone. And adding Parrott doesn’t hurt either.

I did not twist anything but I find this response very honest and I have to give you credit by saying what you said. Most coaches in the area would love to be in Joe's shoes right now because he is loaded with talent. I think the test will be bringing them together and playing team ball. If Joe can do that, and I think he can this will be a good year. I'm hearing through the grapevine that they are not having a freshman team this year, true?

This league will be between Huron and Oak Harbor. The Willard Dumpster's will not even be in the top half of the Bay division. I hate to break it to you. Huron has the best player in the league, best coach, and the best athletes. Look out for Freshman guard Jack Bradburry to make an immediate impact. Could be the best freshman the SBC has seen since Jayrese Williams. Averaged 25 points as an 8th grader for the Tigers. Will assume most of the ball handling by seasons end.
