Problem is genius that outside of football on Friday nights you don’t just play a varsity match at 730. Good luck with soccer track cc tennis swimming fresh and jv b-ball fresh and jv vball etc. In addition, my daughter recently graduated from Capital and has lived in Hilliard for the past 3 years. Having attended several indoor track meets on Friday evenings during her time there I can assure you that even after 6 pm in that area there is no such thing as light traffic, even on Friday nights. So I would suggest that you plan on leaving for that Whitehall game in the 5:45 neighborhood. These changes are made on the numbers. The sports you mentioned to try and make your point do not carry the numbers to swing the choice in your favor. No it's not a money thing. It's about self perception. BV considers itself to be a Columbus area suburban school. They want to be in a Columbus area conference. I believe that adding Shelby to the MOAC was a bridge too far for them. Unfortunately size wise they aren't quite large enough to join the OCC with Delaware and the Olentangy schools. So this "new" conference was their best available option. Although, for the life of me unless there are going to be some changes made to it soon I don't see how a conference with schools that have such a disparity in size can exist for long.

Being that they are a Central District school was a factor in the move. All schools in their new league are as well. Enrollment numbers are more of a fans concern. If there is a history of competitive balance it is probably not an issue to the schools. When a larger school begins to dominate is when it becomes a problem, just ask Ontario. Harding could be in this same place if they would consistently return basketball and football to winning league titles.

Aren't the student athletes more important?
Frosh, JV and varsity basketball games on a weeknight. Pack up, load up bus, will have to leave before 2:00, leave before last period is over. Drive to, around or through Columbus. Get there, unload bus, undress, dress and warm up for a 4:00 start. Change, shower, eat, load up bus, drive out of, around or through Columubs, bus gets back to school, get in car and drive home, that makes it after 10:30. No homework assignments or study done for a test the next day. Unless you're up until midnight. Maybe 6 hours sleep that night.

That's not how BV works. They can't leave early because they don't have extra buses/drivers to run the routes after school. At least that's what we've been told for tennis.

Given that the origins of the breakup were Sheldon and his buddy at BC I wouldn't think that an admission would be necessary.

Don't forget Wynford. That was the first time I heard that from dude. He's been rather close mouthed on the subject in the past. Not wanting to credit Ontario for anything. Other than attracting "runners". If you notice, he didn't say Ontario, just the generic "basketball" as the reason.

No doubt that was the reason - to get away from Ontario (and I would add Galion at the time too). Don't understand why Sheldon & his crew have allowed Upper to stay in the league so long. Especially since they are 1-9 vs Upper with the loss this season making 8 straight.

Especially since they are 1-9 vs Upper with the loss this season making 8 straight. Because they don’t have enough votes to throw Upper out. The Wyandot County schools are a voting block of 3. I’d bet it takes 75% at least to kick someone out. Would never happen. Sheldon would have to break away and form A new league. That’s why.

It may also be the memory of the black eye they had from their last league exit and they fear doing it again may turn schools away from their schedules.

Actual final was 70-48. Walter with a big game for the Whippets with 26 and easily 12-15 rebounds. No offensive support from anyone else.
Bellevue is one of the better girls teams I have seen in the last 10 years. The Santoro girls are tremendous and a good supporting staff. Final four talent.

BV falls to Hayes 56-44 Friday night. With only 8 dressing varsity lack of depth is becoming a major problem when starters have 2 fouls in 1st qtr every game. Hayes 1-3-1 zone put an end to BVs 12 pt early lead. BVs coaches and players can't figure out how to beat the zone. Play at Fairfield Union tonight

Ontario beats BV by 4. Pearson was on fire for Ontario, BV had no answers for her. She had 30+ and BV had a slow start getting down 20-8 in 1st qtr.
