Now that fall sports is over at Huron. Genoa Bank / E.C. game would be nice. I hoping for a regional final of Norwalk / Sandusky at Huron, in 2 weeks.

I was told Sandusky will NOT host because they are playing, That would surprise me. Sandusky hosted two years ago w a week 12 game.

It's hard to get the workers who want to go watch your team. Most places put in to host the night their team doesn't play.

Pretty sure that Sandusky has two soccer Final Four games scheduled for this week (Tuesday night, 6 and 8, with both Kirtland Boys and Girls teams playing). Wondering how that'll cut into the Streaks preparation for this weekend.

When is Perkins due for new turf?
Don't be surpsied to see one of the avon's against a toledo team at Bellevue, pretty central, nice facility with large home side.

Another game that could potentially end up somewhere around here is Jeromesville Hillsdale/Sherwood Fairview. Tiffin would be a good choice for that as far as distance goes.
Seneca East/Columbus Grove would make sense at Findlay Clear Fork/Lorain Clearview would make sense at either Wooster or Ashland, though Willard could be a possibility I suppose.

Bellevue hosted Benedictine and Central Catholic in 2015. The game was a rematch from the season opener that was on ESPN that year. Plenty of seats and parking there. Ended up as a GREAT game. 2OT win for Irish, 31-30 Indeed, that was a fun one. What I love about attending neutral playoff games at BAF is walking all over the place and taking in the game from a bunch of different angles that I don't normally get to see during a Bellevue game, and seeing a little bit of both fanbases. That same year we also hosted Calvert vs Lucas, and I started off sitting on the Calvert (home) side. Though when I went over to the Lucas side I found it to be a much more fun atmosphere and ended up rooting for them. At the CC/Benny regional title game I remember some Benedictine fan asking how long it takes to drive from Bellevue to Toledo, and then going off on a rant about how the game's location was way too close to Central Catholic than Benedictine. That was a real eye roll moment.

Benny fans complained about being homered every year in Fremont when they won an overwhelming majority.

I started working as the PA announcer during the last year of "old" stadium, and this is my 9th year doing PA for the Pirates.

Is the higher seeded team considered the home team or is it determined by your place on the bracket?

RR will be considered the home team as it took over Clyde's spot

Toledo Central Catholic vs. Avon Lake at Perkins HS on Friday. Yep. Just got the email from our AD. 2nd time that TCC will be here. I hope they leave their dark gray jerseys at home. Really, really difficult to identify numbers on those.

perkinspa......just a comment.....when you announce the Pirate games, can you start giving field position with your play calling? As in....."Pirate 1st down on the Blue Streak 38"....or...."3rd down and 6 on the Pirate 47 yard line".....seems like you never announce field position. Please......not a criticism, just a comment. Thanks.

I've generally not done it, as the scoreboard guys do a bangup job of getting the yardline up on the scoreboard. I try to be more of a minimalist, and trust that the crowd will use the board. I do try and give the location on the field on changes of possession, but I don't always give the location on the field after a 1st down. Reflecting on it, I often end up relying on the three guys running the clock. Six eyes are going to find the exact spot on the field and get it onto the scoreboard quickly. I'm doing my best to say as little as possible, and as I don't work with a spotter at all, I don't want to say too much, or find myself creeping towards doing play-by-play. That's not my role at all. I'm there to call the game as honestly as I can, while attempting to keep my bias towards the home team under wraps, because I think that in a high school setting, the announcer, should demonstrate as much balance as possible, as the student athletes on the other team are just that...student athletes.
