I’ve spoken with a school board member within the last week and asked. Unless it’s being kept quiet nothing is official. That would make sense. If it was official, the board member would know.

I’m saying unless the board is keeping it quiet and he withheld information from me (which is possible) there is no official announcement.

Or as fan made clear, the board member could know, but it is not official as yet, Thus, he/she can not say at this point

It can be said many different ways but the bottom line is the board member did not confirm any news of an opening. Which is what I was asking.

But I did not see anything about Bechtel winning the best coach for the MOAC.

I'm saying THE PERSON who is promoting a player for BIG THINGS should know how to spell his name. It is embarrassing for you and your position, not for the player

It doesn't matter that you're not embarrassed when all others see differently. There is NO substance for a promoter if he can't spell the name of the individual he's promoting. Heck even Don King could spell the names of those he promoted.

I took Debate in college. I know what resigning sounds like. Not much of a beer drinker. How about a lobster dinner and a bottle of Dom Perignon at Sky Way East. I'll introduce you to my brother who manages the place. He too enjoys a good debate. The 2 quotes above this one are from the take your own advice department........ Maybe "Brother John" can inform you of the proper spelling of the Skyway East when you introduce him to the good Dr.? www.theskywayeast.com/info-contact-us/

I heard from a reliable source that Schwemley has resigned as the basketball coach at Shelby. Staying in Shelby or moving to another school? There has been a for sale sign in front of his house for two weeks. I didn’t say anything because the story being told was they were downsizing. Everyone deserves some privacy and freedom from random speculation. When I heard something from someone who would know it made sense. Could still just be downsizing... Draw you own conclusions. If it’s on the school Twitter it must be official.

The success from the CC and Track team is evidence of how a properly run program that encourages kids can succeed. No doubt that was bolstered by a special group going through the last few years and a drop off is coming after graduation of this group. You just had four of those boys win gold medals at state indoor, and I have heard that three of these kids were in BB at one time before Schwemley discouraged them and ran them off. The problem in Shelby BB is not lack of athletic kids it’s been the leadership of the program an unwillingness or inability to develop players. There is some more proof of what I was saying the four athletes on the State Champion 4x800, at least three probably would have been on the BB team under the right program. These weren't lazy kids unwilling to work but a program unwilling to develop players.

I'm so glad you now have what you wanted and the new coach is the guy to lead Shelby to many many wins and multiple titles in basketball. Better get started on that new trophy case.

Lack of quality depth is an issue on any team. Don't you agree? Foul trouble, loss of players to injuries, loss of player do to rules or grades, its not rocket science. He had trouble evaluating, developing and retaining players in the lower grades. Last years squad had one senior on the team when post season came around C Brooks. I'm done posting on the topic, I'm going to give little Johnny his bottle now.

The season before last had a good number of seniors and sophomores that played and this can affect the number juniors who want to sit on the bench. Many Shelby kids play multiple sports when they are young but as they get older the number of sports for each kid gets smaller and the number of kids playing sports in a class declines. This happens at every school. Blaming the head coach of a sport for a kid realizing he is very good at another sport and dedicating his time to that sport is asinine. You may want to take a few turns on that bottle yourself. It's easy to be done, you got what you wanted and the program is improved. We all expect nothing by wins from the Whippet basketball teams now and a maximum roster of players at every level with the depth that will be superior to every school in the area since every player will be properly evaluated, developed and encouraged to stay with the team.

Speak for yourself. By the way, they technically did have to modify the trophy case for that State Title they brought home last weekend, since you referenced this earlier. It just doesn't have the little basketball player on top.

I can't comfortably walk 3200 meters at this point. And I also can't confirm the reserve section seating presales for track next year either. But given your interest and expectations for this year (as I've been reading in this thread), I expect you already have your reserve seating for Whippet basketball?
