The last time NSP was on the receiving end of a shutout was 11/13/15 at the hands of Mogadore in the second round of playoffs. The time before that, and the last time they suffered a regular-season shutout, was 9/28/12, against Western.

Hate to say it, but I called this one to be running clock with Flyers on the wrong side. This Edgerton team just really good and FC was just bad. The Flyers not prepped for this last 7 weeks.

Hate to say it, but I called this one to be running clock with Flyers on the wrong side. This Edgerton team just really good and FC was just bad. Drop the traditional catholic games they do every year also and pick up stronger non-conference games also to help prep them. Sorry the FC does St.Paul no good and really could use stronger non conference games. I know this will tick off some loyal Flyer fans, but think about it before blasting away. You're not wrong about dropping SMCC and SJCC, but Calvert might be one to hold onto for a time. I was given to understand that some diocesan high school say-so is what's keeping the SP in the round-robin year after year with the Streaks and Panthers, which is a reversal from a few years ago when St. Paul would play Huron and Elyria Catholic (although a game against EC would have likely looked like the game happening tonight). Just a little while ago, SJCC and SMCC broke from their respective conferences to create the short-lived SRL in order to be competitive. Even after it shifted mostly intact to the SBC - River, they're still falling behind.

I thought everyone was going with SP because their strength of schedule was supposedly better and now they need to make their non-conference better? They were just beat by a much better team last night

The power of the dioceses, Will never let St. Paul drop St. Mary's or St. Joseph from their non conference schedule.

Watching couple of those short videos posted on the Reflector (thru youtube) their field kinda has that old field from Plymouth look when they played at the Mary Kate field. Neat little place but very little seating.

I don’t think the diocese has as much influence on schedules as some people think. If it did Stritch would be playing Calvert and SMCC

If it did Stritch would be playing Calvert and SMCC Possibly, w/ St. Wendelin gone, but isn't Stritch a bit bigger than the local parochials? Also, I think geographically it puts the old round-robin out of sync (Calvert-Mary-Joe-Paul), though it doesn't exist as a non-ference game now for anyone but Paul. Interesting point to ponder, though.

Interesting point to ponder, though. Stritch is D6, so no Stritch could be a possibility, then, depending on their commitments to current non-cons. One can't even really argue against it from a geography standpoint; not with SMCC traveling to Old Fort and New Reigel (admittedly for other sports, but still).
