The league went 6-3 on the opening weekend. Buckeye Central lost 44-45 at Willard. Two good teams. Wynford def. River Valley 53-51, albeit with RV's all-Ohioan being out. Ridgedale transfer Ally Johnson led RV with 15 pts. Does anyone know if she's only playing 1st half of season, or did she get an exemption? Carey losing at Riverdale 36-40 is a bit surprising. Blue Devils were 13-31 from FT line. Upper Sandusky opened with two wins under new coaching staff, including Riverdale 49-32. After Wynford lost 42-51 to Elgin on Saturday, they've been outscored 44-28 in the two fourth quarters thus far. Something to keep an eye on.

Looks like Wynford is much improved. Didn't they lose to River Valley by like 32 to open the season last year? And yes I believe I heard the Ridgedale girl has to sit the required end of season and tournament.

Their returning All-Ohio senior Alexis Stevens is out until around tournament time & they had a strong senior class graduate. Either way, any win is a good win at this point, as they've gone 17-53 the last three seasons.

Cant say they are unexperienced this year

Seneca East out in front so far. Good game over all. Tigers had to shoot their way back for the win and got some timley fouls and put backs. Round two ought to be another fungme to see. Wynford only beating Ridgedale by 2 last night was my interesting score. Ridgedale must be getting better?

Sitting here at CC watching Wynford v Crawford girls. Wynford girls are better then last year but still not in the “same league as Buckeye or SE. Wynford is killing Crawford. Crawford with 6 points. And watching Crawford warm-up they look like they have some talent. And a lot of the talent looks to be younger. They play scared - scared of their coaches. Question: Why does Fenner still have her coaching job? I thought our coach was bad but Fenner is painfully horrible. Feel bad for their girls.

According to royallballdad.....all horrible coaches We should all be thankful to have such “horrible” coaches teaching our young daughters and young men. You royallballdad must have a vendetta. I don’t feel bad for our girls. I feel bad for you

As did Ehresman as Wynford’s boys coach. Again my opinion which I am entitled to have and voice. As mentioned in a previous post... a lot of cool-aid being drank around Wyandot & Crawford counties.

Purefan, you obviously have bought into the constant self promotion and are blind to the actual product. Plus you and others are seemingly happy under-achieving and with winning against average to below average teams. The fans, players & parents deserve better. Not sure the players are truly having fun in any of these programs. The faces on these kids speak loudly - win or lose as an outside observer, I see players who seem very un-happy. Very little positive instruction or coaching. A ton of screaming.

Rbd your definition of talent is drasticly different than mine. You need to get out of crawford and wyandot counties and you will change your opinion very quickly. We are small farming communities that make the very most out of what we have. You are drinking something much stronger than kool-aid if you think otherwise. What i saw last nite was 2 girls teams with not many, if any, true basketball players playing there butt’s off for there school’s and coaches. I’m not drinking a thing. I’m keeping it real.

Some of those young girls on both teams have potential and that is where I believe these coaches are “dropping the ball” in that they do not seem able to develop the young talent. They almost do the reverse with these girls and each year they regress or even quit.

Basketball was much better 15 to 20 years ago, but don’t blame the coaches. Many things have changed and there could be 50 pgs discussing that. It starts at home. Either the parents don’t allow the development or in many cases the kid’s get into other things and or don’t want to put in the required time and effort.

David sheldon..200 career wins and 3 regional apperances [sic] ... ... All have underachieved with the talent that they have had. As did Ehresman as Wynford’s boys coach... I know this topic is for a different thread as this is the girls', but... T. Ehresman - (10 seasons) 167-72 overall (.699). 100-38 league (.725). 27-10 tournament (.730). Regional appearances (5): '06, '07, '08, '10, '11. D. Sheldon (through 12/15/18, on 13th season) - 200-88 overall (.694). 127-52 league (.709). 20-12 tournament (.625). Regional appearances (3): '09, '12, '13.
