CF opened the game firing on all cylinders opening up a 14-2 lead, that was the ball game. Although Ontario got it down to 2 at one point the Colts came back and took it out to double figures again. I really like their team, fun to watch. They remind me a lot of the Ontario team that made it to the State Finals. No real post player, all are good 3 point shooters, share the ball, quick and good defenders. JVs - ONT 47, CF 37 Freshmen - ONT 51, CF 40

Pleasant 62 River Valley 53
RV came out hot and led by 4 after one and 2 at the half. Pleasant adjusted at halftime and led by 13 after 3 and RV never got within 9 the rest of the way. RV has some quick guards and can shoot if you don't get up in their face. One player from Pleasant who will not show up big in the stat lines but had a great game last night is Braden Stark. He was able to body up on Kenney from RV and really caused him problems in trying to get to the hoop.

Looking forward to CF vs Pleasant this weekend. Seems that Pleasant has had some small struggles, maybe due to the fact I have not heard much about the Kimmel or Williams kid this season, compared to last year.

Gonna be another epic game between the Spartans and Colts at the Colt Corral tomorrow night.
Amazing how evenly matched these two programs are in boys sports.

Galion's Alsip with 20 after being held to 5 in first half, the reason Galion closed the game to 4 points in the 4th quarter. Coburn had 20 for Ontario. He has had good games in all of Ontario's wins, but has not had more than 5 points in the losses. It looks like Senior Ethan Keller is out for the the rest of the season with a stress fracture to a vertebrae. So a Junior JV player was moved to varsity to take his place, 6-4 to 5-11 is not exactly an even replacement. So a 6-3 Soph JV player was held out of 2 quarters of the JV game tonight as a precaution. Since Jacobs was in the hospital Friday, as he's been struggling with the flu, asthma and his Crohn's disease. What happens? That JV kid sprains an ankle half way through his 2nd quarter of play in the JV game and couldn't play in the varsity game. THEN in the last minute of the varsity game Griff Shaver takes himself out of the game and limps straight to the locker room with the trainer. In the post game radio interview Joe just didn't sound as upbeat as normal after a win. JVs - Ontario 48. Galion 36 Freshman - Ontario 51, Galion 29

Galion 36 Freshman - Ontario 51, Galion 29 I.M.H.O: Galion is not playing up to their potential. Alsip's "shooting", when he misses, inevitably leads to open shots by the opposition and his errant passes usually lead to the same end. How to beat Galion:
Guard everyone except Alsip.

Gonna be another epic game between the Spartans and Colts at the Colt Corral tomorrow night. Amazing how evenly matched these two programs are in boys sports. Not as epic as we may have thought it could be. Once we jumped up after one quarter we just played our game. Clear Fork has had great starts this season and that is very helpful for the way they play.

Since the pronoun "we". BTW, when you jump up in the first quarter, that's not playing your game?

A quick question to the folks on this site: I have noticed this over the course of time and maybe it has just my view point but do the officials in the Northwest District seem to let more contact go than the officials in the Central District? I have seen quite a few basketball and soccer games where contact takes place that in the Central District is a foul but in the Northwest District is not called. I am not complaining about bad officiating because they call it the same way for both teams. It just seems like you can get away with a lot more contact in games officiated by crews from the Northwest then you can from crews in the Central. Now that folks from Ontario, Galion and Clear Fork are playing some of their games with Central District refs, have you noticed a difference in more fouls being called at away games?

An out of the blue comment on my part, but I think Northwest and I think of farming and long hours of hard work. I think of Central and I think of cities with no chores as a kid and maybe not knowing that milk comes from cows and eggs from chickens. Like I say, an out of the blue comment on my part.

Closer than your untruths. You said Kurtz and Coburn "got some late". Putting down their comeback in the 4th quarter. I had to set you straight and with the truth. Coburn only scored one basket in the entire 4th quarter.

I definitely noticed that in 2014 when Galion first joined the MOAC. Even in football that seemed to be the issue that the central district officials seemed to call more penalties in football. In fact the Upper, Galion game was extra bad that year. I haven’t noticed it as much as time has gone on, but I also don’t go to basketball games.

Coburn only scored one basket in the entire 4th quarter. What I said was 100% true. Kurtz and Coburn had 13 points in the 4th. Kurtz had 10 and Coburn hit a 3. Coburn had 8 at the half. That's 3 more than you said he has had in any lose this season. I was 100% truthful. You lied when you said he has not scored more than 5 in any Ontario loss.
