Not sure on Zhamir, isn’t a huge loss, does a lot of little things for Harding that can be replaced. Inconsistent scoring, has his nights.
Harding SHOULD beat Galion still. That Galion team is pretty laughable outside of Alsip who has his nights. Coaches son should be on the freshman team. I know your type: Dang, dude, you must really dislike Galion. But, then again, anybody can be a "critic". It's really, really easy; just badmouth whatever and whom-so-ever you want with complete and total anonymity 'cause you're posting anonymously on a sports board. Did it ever occur to you that some kids that play sports might have a parent (or two) that see this board and read what you post. This does not apply to me, in this case (my kids are well past high school), but, regardless, you ought to can it.

This one made me take a second look. Not because I think Galion is any good but because I thought Northmor was struggling to win outside of the KMAC.

Got out to see Ontario tonight vs BV. Good hard fought game by two well-coached teams. I just have to say the officiating was awful for both sides. Both coaches very frustrated but Balaugh hit with bogus technical foul at end of the game that sealed it for BV. BV young kids are legit and have gotten better. Ontario is solid and should continue to be competitive in this league to end out the season although they did have some kids in street clothes from what I saw. I’m sure those of you who follow Ontario on here can speak more accurate about that, I’m assuming injuries? Intense high school game it was fun to watch.

This is the reason I keep going to HS basketball games. Tonight I saw THREE things I've never seen before in 40 years of watching HS, college or NBA basketball.
In the Freshman game in OT Ontario is up by 5 with 30 seconds left and they have possession of the ball. How do you lose the game by 2 points. When BV only makes one basket, a 2 pointer? In that situation you run your "stall" offense and get fouled. EXCEPT an Ontario guard drives for a contested layup and misses. BV gets the rebound. Up by 5 with under 30 seconds, playing defense. DO NOT foul and let the opponent score with the clock stopped. BV player launches a 3-pointer. An Ontario defender jumps at the 3-point shooter and flattens him in the act of shooting. BV player makes 3 foul shots. Ontario still up by 2. BV pressing, Ontario gets the ball across mid court, the ball gets knocked loose and BV player dives on the ball. BV has no more times outs. AGAIN don't foul the opponent with a lead in the last seconds of the game. Ontario player reaches down and tries to take the ball away from the BV player lying on the floor with the ball and fouls him. BV player makes both fouls shots, tie game. Ontario can still win or play a 2nd OT. Ontario shoots too soon and misses. BV gets rebound comes down and a player makes a nice reverse layup with 2 seconds left to win the game.
Stranger than that.
In the varsity game everyone on the Ontario side of the court sees the same official get the same 2 player's numbers confused on fouls on 2 different plays. Both are similar plays under the basket. A BV post player gets the ball in the post 6 feet from the basket, turns and takes a dribble and Ontario post player #33 fouls him. The official calls the foul on #23, Ontario's PG who is at the top of the key. The same exact scenario happens again. Ontario post player #33 fouls BV post player under the basket. AGAIN same official calls foul on PG #23 instead of #33 Ontario post player defending BV's post player. Ontario's PG again at the top of the key. #33 is Sophomore playing his first varsity game due to a plethora of Ontario injuries. #23 is Ontario's best player, he fouls out on the 2nd number mix up.
Stranger yet.
Again in the varsity game. BV gym is rather smallish by DII standards. Only about 3 feet from the front row of bleachers to the sideline, but gotta be cool and have folding chairs against the front roll of bleachers, leaving about a foot or so in front of the chairs to the side line. Ontario has been behind, but is making a comeback. Under 2 minutes to play Ontario makes a basket to cut the lead to 3 points. At this point, with plenty of time outs, good coaches call a time out to stop the clock from running, set up his defense and give his players instructions. Crowd making a lot of noise, Balogh stands up to get a timeout after made basket, from the official standing near him. With little room between the chairs and the sideline Balogh is a foot or so on the court. The official turns to hustle to the other end of the court and runs right into Balogh, who is trying to get a time out. He calls a technical on Balogh!! BV makes foul shots and gets possession. Game over.

Only 2 healthy Varsity players left. 6-4 Junior guard/forward, 2 year letterman out for the season after knee surgery. A 6-4 Junior guard letterman not playing due to family problems. 6-4 210 Senior post out for the year with a cracked vertebrae. 6-3 Senior forward re-sprained his ankle, but playing anyway. 6-2 Senior guard/forward who has been in and out of the hospital was just diagnosed with a serious auto-immune disease, but is playing any way. Ontario's best player, 6-1 Soph PG, is playing with a serious sprained ankle. Junior backup PG did not play tonight due to a back injury. Backup Junior guard/forward done for the year. A 6-0 jumping jack JV player did not play tonight, who could have helped the varsity, did not hear what his injury is. That's NINE players out or playing injured or sick. All 3 Ontario guards, their only guards of worth, played the entire game. A 6-3 Soph up from the JVs was the only sub for Ontario tonight. I doubt this team finishes .500.

Officials were bad for both teams. Had same crew for girls BV/PL game night before. They were bad for both that night as well. That T Ontario's coach got was a joke. Frosh are getting more seasoned every game. Thompson is playing some great D and hit some big 3's. Beard handling ball better. Scowden taking shots inside that he was kicking back out. He will learn to not get Tickytack fouls so he can stay on floor more. Like to see Ozzy get on floor more, especially at end of games when they need ball control running out the clock. Fun game to watch

Wouldn't worry about Ontario coach getting a "bogus" tech. He deserves much more than he gets. My question would be if the official is only a "foot or so" from the sideline and close enough to run into him, why does Balogh have to step onto the court to call timeout? Making an assumption here, but maybe he was warned multiple times about being on the court already. Everyone that has ever watched him coach knows that he thinks the coaching box only applies to others, not the "Almighty"

He was just standing in front of his chair when ref ran into him. There is no room between floor and bench. Both him and Gast had plenty of chances to get T's last night because they were all over the refs, for good reasons.

Making an assumption here, but maybe he was warned multiple times about being on the court already. Everyone that has ever watched him coach knows that he thinks the coaching box only applies to others, not the "Almighty" He didn't "step onto the count'. The unneeded only to be cool folding chairs are so close to the count that when a 6-4 man gets up out of one of those chairs to call a hurried timeout, before the ball is inbounded, it automatically puts him onto the court. The BV coach also was on the court most of the night, at no fault of his own either, but he was lucky enough not have a Ref run into him. Of course he coaches at this smallest court 11 times a year, every year. This is only Ontario's 2nd game in this facility. There is no problem like this at the O-rena, there is about 10 feet between the first row of bleachers to the sideline on the side of the gym where the team folding chairs and LONG scorer's table is located. I was sitting behind the Ontario bench, Joe was never warned about being on the court. NEITHER was the BV coach warned about being on the court, which he ALSO was most of the night. Neither was the BV JV coach warned about being at mid-court arguing a call, WAY out of the coaching box. This stuff doesn't bother me, coaches do it all the time, I've never seen a coach T'd up unless he is WAY WAY out on the court arguing a call. IMO, the Ref was embarrassed that he ran into a coach. If he had reffed in this smallish gym before he should have been aware how close the unneeded chairs were to the court. Thus when turning to run to the other end, be aware that in the game situation as it was, expect a timeout to be asked for. , Saying "Almighty" is a foolish statement. How many of his 765 games have you seen? I suspect I've seen 700 more than you. He's entering the Ohio Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame this year. Do they only select the most "Almighty" coaches for this honor? BTW, I've never seen a coach more red faced and so far onto the court screaming at the top of voice at the officials over and over and over again, pointing at the score board saying 6 to 0!! 6 to 0!! 6 to 0!! In this instance the coaching box didn't apply to him, the BV head coach. .......................................................................................... An addendum for further proof of the stupidity of these officials. Talking with Ontario's JV coach before tonight's games he tells me this story..... The lead official of this crew, who looks like a Walking Dead cast member. Tells him, Ontario's JV coach, just after the half time buzzer that he has informed the official scorer that he is warning Balogh for "prodding" his players. "Prodding"?!?!? JV coach asks official, "What is "prodding". Official tells JV coach, "It's in the rule book, coach is not allowed to "prod" his players from the side line. JV coach says, "He's coaching his players." JV coach then asks official, "If Balogh is illegally 'prodding' why didn't you tell him instead of me?" "Why did you inform the official scorer and not the head coach?" The walking dead official, having no answer walks away. Balogh didn't stop "prodding", no further mention by officials concerning Ontario's "prodding" tactics. I know there are officials that read this board. What is "prodding" and where in the rule book does it mention "prodding" being illegal?
