I've been looking at the schedules on arbiter.com to see how Hopewell-Loudon is being integrated into the SBC for next year.
Here is what I see:
Willard will move to the Bay Division in football to replace Shelby and make way for Hopewell-Loudon in the River Division. No other changes - 6 in the Lake, 6 in the Bay, and 8 in the River.
In basketball, I'm not sure why I'm seeing what is there. Vermilion moves to the Lake in basketball, and Hopewell-Loudon enters the River. This leaves 7 in the Lake, 6 in the Bay, and 9 in the River. I confirmed this by looking at several of the River schools' schedules. There are 8 schools in these schedules that are home and home.
I guess I don't understand why a school from the River was not moved to the Bay to replace Vermilion in basketball. This would make it 7 in the Lake and Bay and 8 in the River.
Anyone close to the conference on here have any information on this?

There isn't a school that really fits in the Bay that's in the River. Lakota is the biggest River school and they aren't a good fit. Enrollment? Yes. All other factors, including competitively? No.
The Bay thought it would be easier for them to play up and down non-conference games than the Lake playing River schools, so that's why they are six and the Lake is seven.
Vermilion should have been in the Lake when the expansion took place but were approved to swap with Shelby for a variety of reasons. Nonetheless, Vermilion is where they belong and will be just fine vs the Lake schools in most sports.

Vermilion will be ok on the boys side.. football stays in the bay - girls side.. they will not be a good fit...

Not any better than Lakota can compete in the Bay. Rather obvious the NEW SBC will promise anyone anything to get them to join and worry about it later.

Shelby this year?? Shelby wasn't a shadow of the team they were in 2017, what was the result of the Willard/Shelby game that year? What is your prediction of Willard's DIVISION record in the Bay next year. Can't talk overall record, their non-league schedule in football is not better than that in basketball this year. How long will Willard continue to play Shelby?

Willard is a Bay school by all metrics. They are not a River school. Yes - they fit well there recently because of their lack of competitiveness but the Bay is where they belong and as a reminder, it's where they wanted to be when this got started. They bucked the River for football. It took other NOL schools to tell them it was in their best interest to start there. They were worried about community disdain vs River schools because they had little/no history. Oh how the times have changed in the last four years. Actually, quite laughable to reflect on.
