Buckeye freshman, Lexington grad Cade Stover, gets his Black Stripe removed. Great character, great work ethic and great abilities. Cade is going to be remembered among the great ones at Ohio State, when his career takes him to the next level (NFL).

Who all watched the Spring Game the other day? The QB play was atrocious, all y'all Tate Martell haters are eating a ton of crow right now. Martell would have run circles around those 3. Are we looking at a Luke Fickell year? What type of record would get Day fired after 1 year. What if he goes 6-6 like Fickell, does he keep his job? This doesn't look as good now that Martell couldn't even win the job at Miami...

I really could care less about OSU football but I do pull for local athletes and I hope you're right. My son played Bball against Cade when Cade was a Frosh/Soph. I saw right then he was a very nice athlete. I think it's way to early to talk about the NFL. I had people tell me that Mike D'Andrea would be an All time great, future HOF, long time NFL stud, best OSU will ever have, etc etc and he had little impact at OSU. I'd like to see Stover do well but give him his time to shine against the best in the nation before declaring him NFL bound.

Per Tim May, OSU starter at DE Jonathon Cooper has a lower leg issue, most likely a high ankle sprain. Might have undergone a procedure today to hasten the recovery. Nothing as yet on how much playing time he'll miss.

Lots of smoke pouring out of c-bus this morning that Chase Young is being suspended for taking money from an agent. Any of you hearing any different? Needless to say losing him would be similar to losing bosa.

The issue was from last year I’m sure he’ll sit against Rutgers and be cleared to play just in time for penn state or Michigan at the latest.

Fact is, this is a preemptive suspension by OSU, because there is an active investigation of the supposed 2018 incident. While some OSU fans will be prone to go ballistic on these reports, without knowing any details or facts of the matter, keep in mind this is simply a matter of clearing up a matter that allegedly occurred with an agent.
The encouraging indications are: According to Lettermen Row's report, "multiple sources have indicated that the program is optimistic that Young will be cleared to return to Buckeyes this season, but a resolution for the matter still hasn’t been reached."
If it turns out to be a mere game or two game suspension, some positives can be reaped from CY's non presence on the football field. First of which, is putting the talented, but largely inexperienced backups to the test and furthering the development and quality of a very deep DE group.

Young issued a statement that he received a loan from a family friend and has already repaid it back. Possibly a legit loan/repayment. Possibly a loan and he got caught so he paid it back. All of it happened last season. Guess we get to wait and see what the NCAA decides.

A familiar poster had a tweet out 3 hours ago with Chase Young being done for the season for taking money from an agent. # fake news
Don't ya love those guys who wanna be first with the scoop, only to be wrong 70% of the time. The 30% always gets reposted as if he had the scoop before everyone else.

I read a tweet from a guy that works for the ncaa compliance department. Said that if Young’s tweet is true that he won’t be out more than 2 games

1-2 at most is my guess based on what I've read and people in the know are saying . And that---is too much.

For perspective, Kentucky defensive end, Denzil Ware, had been suspended from the 2017 Music City Bowl because he accepted $1,628 in benefits from an agent. And after sitting out the postseason, Ware transferred as a fifth-year senior to FCS Jacksonville State, but was not required to miss any additional time.

HaHa Clinton Dix got (2) games for similar shenanigans a few years ago.
Unless there is more to this story than what we currently know (possible i guess) I am guessing we will sit him (2) games.
Carolina Hoops and Rock-Chalk-Jayhawk are laughing at OSU football right now for self reporting haha. Make'em take you down ;+)

Chase Young took 5000 (number I most see) from an agent that he repaid. If 500 got HaHa two games what would 5000 get Chase? I’m guessing it’s more than two but this is the NCAA and OSU is a golden goose.

All of it happened last season. Guess we get to wait and see what the NCAA decides. According to Bruce Feldman, the "family" friend is neither a booster nor an agent, so that's a positive. Call me cautiously, optimistic that this matter will cleared up in a timely fashion.

There are some unanswered questions.
Why didn't Young's parents pay for "basic life expenses"?
Why didn't Young know anything about this "family friend" until the time he goes off to play football at Ohio State.
Young didn't say he asked for this "loan", hes said that his mistake was, "accepting the loan that was offered".
If Young had no money for "basic life expenses" how is he going to afford a well known lawyer? His parents have no money to pay for this lawyer, as they couldn't pay for "basic life expenses".
IF this lawyer is going to represent Young Pro Bono, wouldn't that be an NCAA violation?

As the facts in the matter come out, it is looking pretty clear a naive kid, wants his girlfriend at the game, but knows his mother doesn't approve or like the young lady in his life, so Chase resorts to borrowing the small sum to get her a round trip flight and pays it back by April of this year. Small loan, that is paid in full within 4 months, as simple as that. Chase says this family friend is certainly not a sports agent and no influence pedaling going on here, just a kid that wants his girlfriend in the stands, cheering him on. Sorry folks, no major scandal here. I think we will see a one game suspension, or possibly two. Can't imagine anything more will result. No harm, no foul.

What I'm wondering is: Why is this coming to light now? Who brought it to OSU's attention?
My guess is there is someone involved in Chases' or his families life that is or has been recently pushed out and is feeling scorned. Either way, once again a ridiculous example of how an athlete cannot hardly breathe without the NCAA becoming involved in a negative way with a punishment that hurts the team and himself for what seems like such an everyday event that a normal non student athlete would never be punished for.
Amazing how the suggested #1 player in College Football gets pinpointed. Not the 3rd team DB who's also on scholarship. It's almost like profiling to find someone who is of significance and newsworthy. Makes me sick!

On the same day the possible #1 pick in football gets suspended, the possible #1 pick in basketball gets suspended at Memphis too. Not a banner day for the NCAA, people want to see these top players play.

Herbstreit on gameday just now said the amount of money Chase accepted in the loan requires a 4 game suspension per NCAA rules, but that OSU will be appealing to get that down to 2 or 3 games, based on his previously clean record.

I think these two situations will just help further push the agenda right now of allowing players to earn money in college. How insane is it that, if Young’s story is true, he is going to miss one or more games because he borrowed some money that was eventually paid back. Like what did that hurt? How did that affect anything? This should literally be a non issue. No one in America should even care that this happened.
