heard that today and they mentioned that Washington played at BC but i have not fact checked that...good for Don Brown if he goes because being the D-Coordinator at UM is like being the insect repellent in Venezuela...no one is going to be impressed at the job you do for them
i don't reckon Al will be the only poach off this staff, Hafley is in line to field some offers too
also hearing Fickel is a "candidate" for the BC job which makes sense on some levels but my gut tells me he stays at CIN until he gets fired or his kids graduate...never say never though and i would think the Catholic pull for him would be strong

The all big ten defensive players were announced a little bit ago and Chase Young was unanimous first team by the media but there was one coach who didn’t vote him first team. That’s just insane and unprofessional.

Ryan Day has also won big ten coach of the year, Ohio State’s first coach to win that since 1979.

Where are you pulling the Micah hyde reference from? Micah never played offense at Iowa. He did return kicks but never played offense for the Hawkeyes. I do get the idea you’re after because no transfer that’s worthwhile is going to touch OSU. When you transfer your looking for playing time and it’s not available at OSU. You are correct, but Micah was the first collegiate that came to mind. All-Ohio QB in h.s. days and recruited by some schools on that side of the ball. He never played on the offensive side in college, but my hypothetical was he had the ablility to adapt in a serious situation as we are experiencing with the Buckeyes. My hunch is, we have a couple new faces working with the QB coach this week. No doubt, they are exploring all available options at this point. Silliness. THAT would be a slap in the face of not only the QB room, but the entire team. Other than Cade Stover during his Junior year I don't believe there's a player on the Ohio State roster that played QB in high school that isn't in the QB room now. I'd have to think that Chug would be 10 times better at QB than one of the back up WR's. Heck, it makes more sense to put both Dobbins and Teague in the back field. One or the other receiving a direct snap and the other blocking. With 4 back up O-linemen as Tight Ends and Wing Backs. Can you picture 6-8 360 Dawand Jones going in motion? Heck Jalin Marchall, who was a 5 Star Dual Threat QB in high school and played WR at Ohio State was tried at QB for an emergency and he didn't fair well.

Highly deserving OSU coaches have been getting the obvious snub, for a long, long time. (Urban & Tressell for sure)

well the coach of the year is usually about who does more with less so not surprising OSU coaches get the shaft

well the coach of the year is usually about who does more with less so not surprising OSU coaches get the shaft And that point is completely understandable. I’d say there were at least two years recently that Ohio State coaches deserved it. One was the year Tressel went undefeated and the other is Urbans first year when he took a 6-7 team the year before and went undefeated.

Apparently there are two versions of the award, one given by the media and one by the coaches. The media selected Day, the coaches selected Fleck.
The last such split was in 2016 when the media picked Franklin while the coaches went with Chryst

Ohio State has put up a lot of amazing stats and facts this year. How about this one. In 12 straight games Ohio State has outscored their opponents by at least 11 points. The first time that's happened in One-Hundred Years.

well no matter what happens i think this season has been a tremendous success and it has been one of my favorites since i moved to Columbus in 02
my lasting memory of this season will always be Ryan Day after the UM game on the verge of tears during his post game interview, what a great scene for a guy who people wondered about in terms of his understanding of the importance of our rivalry with UM since he wasn't a native Ohioan...it was just awesome to watch

also, Fields cost me a fair amount of $$ last night when he went without a pick the last 3 games of the "season" vs PSU, @ UM, and in Indy
it is unfathomable to me that he has 1 INT on the season

It is appearing that this years edition of Buckeyes, may be the most celebrated and award winning team, ever, in the history of Ohio State football! Chase Young has already won the 'Bronko Nagurski' award and many more awards coming for him. Jordan Fuller is named 'Academic All-American' Justin Fields has been named B1G POY. The awards will begin piling up for this team and it's coaches. The effects in the recruiting wars is unmeasurable.

Dobbins coming back for his Senior year? Not thinkable by most, but....... His comments about his non-invite to the Heisman presentation: “But I’m happy for my teammates. They didn’t choose me so I just have to work harder, so if there’s a next time, I can be there.”

Good question....same thing for Marcus Crowley & Steele Chambers. I seriously doubt Teague would leave, because he understands Dobbins patiently, waited his turn and Teague and Dobbins have a fantastic relationship. Teague, surely understands that patience for now, knowing his time will come and most probably earn an opportunity to earn his Heisman moment.
Those who would be quick to scoff at the remote idea of J.K. returning for his final year, must realize, we get a couple surprises each and every year, that a player or players already written off as gone, opts to stay for some 'unfinished business'.

I think Dobbins is gone, as he should be. 3 year starter and one of the most accomplished backs in OSU history. He needs to go get that money.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d be more than excited if he announced he’s coming back but I just don’t see it.

can't wait to see our passing game next season Theres going to be WR’s on our team next year that probably won’t even see the field because of depth that would be the main target on about any other team.
