I was a little surprised to see Tiffin was conducting offseason team workouts and even more surprised to see pictures of the practices tweeted out to the public. As far as I knew, offseason football camps weren't allowed to begin this time of year and any team camps would count toward the team off season camps. I'll be curious to see if any punishments get handed out by the state for these practices. If I remember correctly, Coach Hawkins was suspended for doing something similar a few years ago. Are offseason camps conducted regularly by other area schools? The links are to the pictures tweeted of the practices. Apparantly they have been deleted from Twitter. Coach Lutz's Tweet

Reading the OHSAA manual, it seems as this is only really allowed from June 1st to July 31st, where 10 non contact practices are allowed. At least that is my interpretation.
The big problem of having the kids in there February is that it pressures them to be a one-sport athlete which is really unfortunate.

that is definitely a practice. integrity must be a punchline at Tiffin Columbian. Have they been turned in?
either way, this is sad and pathetic that Tiffin is now holding illegal practices.

The pics from the coaches twitter say football, soccer and baseball workouts, which are allowed (off season weightlifting/conditioning). The second picture there is only a few players The third there is no way to tell who is involved

Might explain the 0-20 in Lake play for boys basketball. Ok, I jest. I would like to give Tiffin the benefit of the doubt

Was told he admitted it when asked ok if so..then on to the next part.. A) did they know the rules? B) did they self report like you're expected to? C) how many sports were involved?

Slap on the wrist indeed. Must have been the Avon way if "he didn't know". The OHSAA has already ruled. TC loses two summer practices as a result of at least five illegal practices this year and who knows how many last year. If he didn't know this year, he didn't know last year. As mentioned, he readily admits doing it. They will only get 8 days now. Many programs don't even use all 10 days so there's that. Maybe it all helps explain a little bit of their 0-10 2017 season to Lake champs in 2018 turnaround?

wow what a joke of a penalty they got. lost a lot of respect for the school district and program because of this though. it appears their turnaround wasn't so wholesome after all, but, I feel it'll catch up to them in the end.

Is anyone on here smart enough to acknowledge that the original Tweet that Coach Lutz quoted came from a coach in TEXAS?

Is anyone on here smart enough to acknowledge that the original Tweet that Coach Lutz quoted came from a coach in TEXAS? True, but the irony of Columbian holding "7 man workouts" with 20 some odd kids inside the Hemminger Center (Indoor Facility) and saying how great an indoor would be is pretty stupid too.

Hearing the same but now it's "student led". Yeah, ok. Almost believe there's no coaching going on while the coaches just "watch". No scripts either, right? Just open gym football.
