Trade Deadline currently restricts all players from being traded after July 31st.
The proposal is to allow Minors Rostered players to continue to be available to trade throughout the end of the regular season. (No Trading in playoffs) You would only be able to trade: Minors for Minors Minors for Picks
Players on the Active Roster that are Minors Eligible would not be available for trading. No trades involving anyone on an Active Roster.
You would be able to: Trade Minors/Picks for a Minors player and immediately move that minors player to your active roster.
This would facilitate late season trading of picks and allow teams headed to the playoffs to make a final roster push/change.
(discuss at NCOAST before voting if needed)

I'm just going to throw my thoughts out there. I always hated the mlb waiver bs trades after the trade deadline and thats what that feels like to me. I'm all for 1 deadline. Id rather everyone know where they stand on the 31st.

I’m kind of in the same boat with that thought process. I haven’t voted yet and was interested in what others would think. Could be an interesting quirk. Could also be annoying.

I voted no. Even though I'm guilty of it, I don't love the idea of storing MLB participating players on our minors system. It seems like this would encourage that, I.E. a non-contender loading up his minors list with SPs and bats to offer a contender right before the playoffs at a premium price.

well they don't have to pay for it! Free market economy. I mean if a sucky team wants to trade some good minor pieces so they will suck now and in the future that's on them.

Up to 8 votes and tied 4-4. I voted for... free market, stashing mlb ready minors eligible players in an effort to get something (extra pick/younger players) in return, late season deals to fill a need. I like it. Worse than an open trade market: one year in a different league, a week before the playoffs me and another mgr noticed we were 1/2 in waiver order. He dropped a bat I needed, I dropped a pitcher he wanted. League manager was none too happy and demanded we let him reset our rosters due to working through a loophole to make a mid-september "trade". We told him thems the rules and if anybody didn't like it they should have set themselves up to be no2 in the waiver order at the end of the season next time. Til then suck it.

1 more vote to go. A split vote is very possible.

Lol. I haven’t voted yet.
Good points all around. I def wanted your input.
I hadn’t considered what TESL said, and initially though ‘well Poop, that’s the end of that’ because I know some of you might employ that strategy.
However, if a team wants to load their minors with borderline bums as some sort of advantage, hey do your thing. Me personally, I need my minors slots
If you want to try to sway my vote by text, feel free. I won’t vote until maybe tomorrow, but I’ll read everything anyone has to say and take it into account

Which is worse:
Leaving a SP in your lineup you are afraid will get blown up and then watching him get blown up and cost you several categories...
or...
Benching a SP you are afraid will get blown up and then watching him shove.

Benching a SP you are afraid will get blown up and then watching him shove. Benching the guy and watching him go off. I always start them. You can't hit home runs if you don't swing. When I'm borderline or on the fence with sp's (marquez at nyy for example) and they get blown up I shrug it off. It was half expected. I can forgive myself more for that decision than I can benching them and they rack up a qs or better.

Or we could punt the vote until the end of the season so everyone could play this season out and see what they may have traded, and then vote before next year starts.
Some of these voting things may not matter or may not make sense when/if we change platforms

We normally don't change a rule midseason anyway. Since there isn't an overwhelming yes to change, it may make the most sense to revisit in the offseason.
