In what way do the players need to be from Ohio? - born, raised, played, all three

I'd have to add Chris Spielman and Keith Byars to the list.
My husband would add Bernie Kosar to the list only to remove Ben.

It's amazing Woodson had a great NFL career considering he was extremely raw for DB when he arrived at UM. For the record, Roethlisberger may not have been the best QB Ross has ever seen; there was a gent in late 50s from Cincinnati Purcell Marian named Roger Staubach.

I'd have to add spielman to football and Jimmy Jackson for basketball.

How about these two for Football Coaches? Chuck Noll and/or Don Shula.

I'd have to add spielman to football and Jimmy Jackson for basketball. I almost had both those two, can't say exactly why I chose to excluded them other than just a gut feeling

How about Robert Smith at RB? 2-time Mr. Football at Euclid, and solid career at OSU/NFL.

How about Robert Smith at RB? 2-time Mr. Football at Euclid, and solid career at OSU/NFL. Robert Smith was always a sprinter first to me and I wish he doubled. I'm assuming he'd replace Clarke Hinkle on the list but Hinkle was a 7x All-Pro, All-Decade team and led the NFL in career rushing yards when he retired. I don't think players of that era get enough recognition and I think he deserves the spot

1- LeBron James 2- John Havlicek 3- Nate Thurmond 4- Jerry Lucas 5- Gus Johnson 6th man- Neil Johnston Coach- Bobby Knight
I think your basketball team needs more balance and a bench. I picked based on being born in Ohio and also playing in HS or College here. Otherwise, Norm Van Lier and Curry would have been the point guards.
C-Nate Thurmond, backup-Herb Williams PF-Gus Johnson, backup-Jerry Lucas SF-LeBron, backup-Jim Jackson SG-Havlicek,backup-Ron Harper PG-Kelvin Ransey, backup-Eric Snow Coach-Bob Knight

Can’t disagree with a lot of your basketball players but I think the all-time leading scorer in OHSAA history needs to be considered...Jon Diebler. Great HS player and an extremely successful career at OSU.

Red Auerbach made Havlicek famous by making him the first true "Sixth Man" in the NBA. Auerbach would insert Hondo into the game at an important juncture at one of 3 different positions. He took advantage of what he observed on the bench at the beginning of games and the energy he brought to the floor was not seen before he played nor since.
Thus he should be the "Sixth Man" for the team and JJ should be a starter in his place.
Jerry Lucas should be the starter at PF over Johnson. In his 11 years in the NBA he averaged 15.6 rebounds per game, 4th all time. Only behind Wilt, Russell and Pettit. And he was a 6-8 white guy that couldn't jump. He also averaged 17ppg in his NBA career. He was the first player to win Championships in high school, college, the Olympics and the NBA. Johnson also had an 11 year NBA career. He averaged 12.7 rebounds and 17.1ppg.
J.Diebler was a great high school player a good college player, but didn't have the skill set for success in the NBA. Which is a key to making this team.

Great HS player and an extremely successful career at OSU. Luke Kennard of Franklin Ohio over Jon Diebler. He’s had a better career after high school. Played at Duke and now for the Pistons. High school is one thing but proven in the NBA is another level. I saw both in high school, Diebler could shoot but Kennard was a bit better all round player.

It’s too bad one of the Mauk boys from Kenton didn’t pan out at the next level. Both were great high school QB’s. Ben suffered a broken arm pretty much a career ender. And Matty got into some trouble at Mizzou. Don’t know what either are doing now. But they were probably the most amazing QB’s in recent Ohio high school history. With the running clock now those records probably wont be broken. Just shows how hard it is to be special at the next level. And all those years Roethlisberger played in the NFL proves he should be on there and not one of them.
