Nashville made their MLS debut last night, losing 2-1 to Atlanta in front of 59k at LP Field. Pretty good showing, will be interesting to see how they do attendance wise now that the opener is out of the way. Also, Atlanta lost their best player to a torn ACL.
Miami just lost 1-0 at LAFC in their debut. They play their first home game 3/14, in Fort Lauderdale.

Editing this to update for 2022 known info:
Covid pushed back the debuts of Charlotte and St. Louis by one year. Then Sacramento's prospective owner backed out of the deal and they are now out of the running for slot #30
2020 - 26 teams (added Nashville SC and Inter Miami) 2021 - 27 teams (added Austin FC) 2022 - 28 teams (added Charlotte FC) 2023 - 29 teams (adding St. Louis City SC)
Las Vegas, Phoenix and San Diego are in the running for the 30th team, but the clear favorite is Las Vegas.

As an MLS fan, I love seeing it grow but I am skeptical this can work long term.

The Seattle Sounders just won the CONCACAF Champions League title, becoming the first MLS team win the continental title under the Champions League format (DC United and LA Galaxy have each won Champions Cup titles, which was a simpler format)

At the time of this post that was true, but things have changed since then. San Diego has been awarded the 30th spot in MLS, and will begin play in 2025. They will be playing at SDSU's new Snapdragon Stadium.
