Any movement on expanding the playoffs? Hearing the coaches association is talking about a push to 12 teams per region. My guess is that means first four teams get a bye while #5-#12 play in opening round. May start the season a week earlier with elimination of "preview game" to compensate for the added week of playoffs.

No thank you. Eight is enough with all due respect to TV Series from late 70s/early 80s.

i think 8 is too much.. force teams to schedule up by making it 4 per region.. right now 6-4 7-3 is on the border of making it

i think 8 is too much.. force teams to schedule up by making it 4 per region.. right now 6-4 7-3 is on the border of making it Eight is fine. Many teams can't "schedule up" very much due to conference schedules. Three non-conference games would be nice, but some large conferences lead to just one or two non-conference games. Besides, it's not as if lower-seeded teams have never won a state title. I would like the state to go back to seven divisions for 11-man football, and add an eight-man division for schools that struggle to field a team or can't due to low enrollment numbers.

I agree with the 7 man division. I would get rid of the small school division and replace it with the new 7 man division. My prediction is that in 5 years, if the present trend continues, there will be numerous schools drop 11 man football. There are numerous schools now that can’t field lower level teams due to the lack of players.

I think it's been expanded enough through 8 teams per region and then adding a 7th division.

I am not a fan of expanding beyond 8. This potentially pushes back the start of winter sports another week for many schools, and I don't like the idea of hamstringing those sports simply to allow for a handful of extra football playoff games.
8 is plenty. If you want to implement bye weeks, cut it from 8 to 6, and give the top two bye weeks.

Speaking from the Officials point of view, more officials will make the playoffs. That, would be a good thing, and might keep a few More officials from hanging it up . However, let’s not lose sight of the main reason for even considering this....The Almighty Dollar

I agree with the 7 man division. I would get rid of the small school division and replace it with the new 7 man division. The National Federation has rules for 11, 9, 8, & 6 man football, but not 7.
