Is this of current SBC schools or of programs that competed in the SBC (ruling out the old NOL schools)?

i dont know how we'd ever do this... is it what have you done for me lately? or is it all time programs?
if its all time programs huron volleyball and perkins track are head and shoulders above the rest.. because they haven't had losing seasons since ?
no idea on perkins track but huron volleyball is 414-91 since 2000 with 3 state championships and 6 final four appearances in that time with no losing seasons in that time.. overall have not had a losing season since 1985 when they finished 11-12..

The 5 I think of in no particular order: Huron Volleyball, Perkins Track, Margaretta girls basketball, Norwalk boys Tennis, Willard Basketball I've been criticized for this before, but again, if you're going to put Willard Basketball, which I have no problem, then in terms of all-time, Bellevue Basketball should be included.

going back to this subject after his 5th. yes 5th state championship Don Wood and Huron volleyball have to be considered the most successful SBC program. i was reading the inserts they had in the paper yesterday. the guy has almost 600 wins and only 130 some odd losses. that is freaking crazy!

Clyde football SMCC wrestling two worthy programs, but this guy at huron i read never had a losing season in his coaching career which started 92? 93? that is unheard of. i just think its incredible 5 state titles and 3 in the last 11 years.

I’m not arguing that Huron is the best. Just think those 2 are up there

Clyde football SMCC wrestling I think one can include Bellevue and/or Huron Football? Both have done just about everything better except Clyde does trump both with 2 State Titles.

**Warning Likely Biased Opinion**
I think very few program from the last 20 years has had the amount of success that Perkins Track and Field has had, with the exception of Huron Tiger Volleyball. From league to State Championship, and including individual championships, the list is long and prosperous.

SMCC’s wrestling program from 2002-2006 was pretty much the standard. Although I should preface they were D3 and in wrestling it does have a significant drop in overall team and some individual weights, the panthers had some pretty good wrestlers. I did always wonder though given they were D2 or D1 how some of them would fared. With that being said I believe a few of them would still have won individual championships.

I vote Marchmadness teams. Really hard to argue unless a timeframe is added though. 5 State titles at a non private school is impressive anyway you slice it though. Huron VB

The original post asked for the top 10.
So the top eight might be: Huron VB, Perkins boys track, Margaretta girls Bball, Norwalk boys Tennis, Clyde FB, Willard BBall, SMCC wrestling, Bellevue FB.
Who are the last 2 spots in the top 10- Bellevue boys or girls Bball?? Bellevue Girls Softball??, Tiffin boys CC?, Perkins Baseball?

Bellevue boys have only won 1 sectional title in the last 18 seasons. Hard to fathom.

Does Ross and/or Sandusky Football get any consideration? I realize Playoff History is a huge strike for the Little Giants.

I’ll have to see if I can get the latest program for Perkins track and field. It’s pretty incredible when you put it all together.

I wish there was a website that archived all the sports teams and their accolades. It would make quantifying this much easier.

I was doing a walk-thru at SMCC the other day from 99-2007 I believe there is 1-2 years the panthers didn’t take home the state championship. They were also top 3-4 those others years. That’s damn impressive.

i'll be biased and say huron volleyball takes the top prize 5 state titles from 1999-2020.. 785-344 overall from 1974-current.. 457-100 from 2000 to current.. 254-14 in the SBC from 2000 to current.. 8 trips to the final four 5 titles, 1 runner up.. they are 6-0 in the last three trips to the final four.. 24 sandusky bay conference titles.. 32 All Ohio Players. 20 of those will/went to play college 8 of those 20 played D-1 college ball.. 22 district championships.. 8 regional championships 21 seasons with 20 or more wins (regular season is 22 games)...and not shying away from the states top competition..

I’ll have to see if I can get the latest program for Perkins track and field. It’s pretty incredible when you put it all together. Perkins track & Field exploits have been incredible for as long as I can recall. The greatest individual performance I've ever witnessed in my lifetime of viewing sports was Perkins legendary distance runner Scott Fry, lapping the entire field of runners in the state finals for the 3200m run. Every person in Ohio Stadium was on their feet, cheering him on the entire race. I've never seen anything like it since and his record time, still stands. Perkins was coached by the legendary track coach, Jim Hauser. Coach Hauser was a standout athlete at Fostoria and later for the University of Toledo, where he was the starting tailback.

Speaking of track studs. I remember a leslie. Corey maybe? Was that Perkins? He was awesome. Went to osu. Willard has had a couple studs. Barrison holds the 100 meter record in Willard with a 10.50. Pretty impressive. I doubt anyone in the area has ran a faster 100.

Jv,
Barrison still holds the record. I remember watching him run that and was blown away at his top tier speed. The field wasn’t slouches either.
I can’t confirm it’s the absolute truth but Barrison ran that time as a sophomore and had he not trained a certain way which supposedly caused health issues he might have been even faster.
