I haven't been keeping abreast of the local track racing as I once did, but have a lot of questions. Findlay Millstream 1/2 mile oval was one of the best in the state for many years and then it closed and sat idle for a long period of time. The Helms family acquired the facility and ran a full 2018 season. For some reason, it is not operational for the 2019 season. Anyone abreast of the situation?
Glad to see Toledo Speedway back in business and running a full slate of events this 2019 season. Much like Findlay, not sure all transpired up there.
Channel 19.1 WFND televises a lot of N/W Ohio sporting events and has been televising races at Attica Raceway Park. Attica offers some great sprint car racing, as does Fremont.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I used to be a HUGE fan of the racing at Sandusky Speedway back in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Dave Shullick, Bob Seelman, Todd Gibson, Doug Saunier, so many names and good times I remember...

Sportsjock:
There actually hasn't been any racing at Millstream since I believe 2016 or 2017 when Lisa and Randy Hammer leased the track and had a few shows. The Helms Family tried to reopen it last year under a lease agreement and even had three All-Star Circuit shows scheduled, that were then cancelled in March. The people that own the track don't seem to be too interested in reopening. I doubt there will ever be racing again at Millstream.

I knew something didn't add up on the happenings at Millstream Motor Speedway. I remember reading the stories in the Courier concerning the new owners and the promotional adds, then nothing. I can't imagine that something will eventually happen to see racing again. It's too nice a facility to lay dormant.

Super Modifieds are big at Sandusky with Jim Linder, Todd Gibson, Joy Fair and my favorite driver at the time was Gordon Dukes in #76. The Super Modifieds were small block powered early on and mid 70's the big blocks came on the seen. Nothing the sound of a big block on the blacktop. Saw Dale Earnheart take the pole and the race for the ASA Ford Turbo 300 in 1987. There were a lot of big name drivers there that night, like Bobby Allison, Ted Musgrave, Butch Miller and many others I can't remember at the moment.

I thought Earnhardt lost that ASA race in the closing laps and finished second. Dick Trickle, Bobby Allison, and ASA legend Mike Eddy were in that race as well. Some of the other names that came thru Sandusky include Tim Richmond, Johnnie Benson, Kenny Irwin Jr, and Gordon Johncock. Todd Gibson briefly ran USAC champ cars in the mid-late 70's.
