I can Jake guarantee one thing; Norwalk won't be jumping out to a 35-0 lead like last season.

Seeing how Mansfield has 3-5 potential D1 recruits, depending on who you talk to, they should be a clear favorite but the voters on this site may have inside info.

Last year was a surprise. Everyone thought Mansfield would easily win. This year with as many starters as the truckers have returning, I expect a win if not a repeat performance.

Norwalk has a bunch of fans on here and they beat the brakes off Senior last year. I’m not surprised the vote is like it is but it also wouldn’t surprise to see Senior win this one. There is plenty of high end talent on that team the question is if they keep it together and not let the wheels fall off like last year.

Are these the same D1 recruits that led them to a 5-5 record last year? In all seriousness, Mansfield is inconsistent and I think Norwalk will be the more disciplined team. Norwalk lost some good skill players, but I think they win a close one.

Norwalk lost some good skill players, but I think they win a close one. Last year's MR FOOTBALL went 2-8 in his junior season. I'm not saying Mansfield will have a similar change but players can be recruited regardless of their teams past record.

There were several factors to last year's beatdown.
1. Press clippings! 2. No QB until week 5. 3. New OC that hadn't ever called plays. That score has been on the board since the end of last year in weight room. Probably the most talented Senior team in a long time, but will they gel?? 6 players have started since they were freshmen. Looking forward to a great game!

Looking forward to a great game! Mansfield also struggled against a really bad Perkins team and didn't beat any of the better teams on their schedule. What was all that talent doing last year? Norwalk had a brand new head coach and a group of kids coming off a 3 win season. I understand the bulletin board, but Norwalk had an extra 4 weeks of practice last year and I believe their coach gives them the advantage.

It is my understanding that Smith created quite a stir among observers at summer kicking camps & clinics! He is definitely a talent to watch.

He was nailing 50 yard FGs during kicking drills against Olmsted Falls in which he received quite the applause. As far as Football Scholarship, I don't think it will be Hernandez; last I knew, he's going to Penn(yes, Ivy League!) for Wrestling.

Mansfield wins this season. Norwalk has a good team but not as good as last year. If you remember the two players that killed Mansfield are gone. They both return a lot of starters. I’ll take Mansfield in this one 28-21. Some big factors. Mansfield lost a weapon on the outside last season because he had to play QB. Now Mansfield has their starting QB and their WR on the outside. Like I already said Norwalk loses a huge weapon at WR and RB. I could definitely be wrong but I think Norwalk comes back down to earth this season. I’ll say they go 6-4 or 7-3. I believe Norwalk lost more production on Offense then Senior did.

But Norwalk's replacement running back had a good night including a 93 yard run for a touchdown. The passing game looked great and managed a 21 second 65 yard drive for a touchdown in the last 22 seconds of the game. Chappin and the wide-outs looked sharp tonight.

It takes a lot more than two players to beat a team like Mansfield.

I want to give kudos to Shelby as well. Whippets look to be improved from last season. They played hard/physical and was able to move the ball.

I just read that Fremont Ross beat Mansfield Senior, 33-17 in a scrimmage tonight. Interesting considering Ross played poorly against lower tier NLL, Northview. But,vto be fair, Norwalk laid an egg last year's final scrimmage against Huron and we saw what happened the following week.

So I found out it was 17-0 Mansfield’s Varsity at half. Mansfield’s Jv gave up the 33 points. JV QB threw two pick 6 and three other ints. I was told by a person very close to the Mansfield Program that Fremonts Varsity barely made it past mid fields
