Willard never ceases to amaze. I’m pretty sure Bellevue has a similar rule. Lots of schools do/did also. The exact language varies, but in essence it's the same.....you can't quit a sport without sitting out the predetermined number of games in your NEXT sport. In reality, a football player who quits and has no other sport until Spring is now sidelined for track/tennis/baseball/lax.

Good luck enforcing that. I believe most schools actually tell student-athletes they cannot practice for the next sport until the sport they quit is over. Also hard to enforce because at the end of the day, you have to ask "what's best for the kid"?

Don't be a poor reader. I said "might", not would. The only inference was that they had a choice. Who's the jacka$$? You're no better than Dump. Those who make threats do themselves a disservice. You're the jacka$$, always have been ..always will be, and 99% of the members on here will agree. You often comment on topics you know nothing about, often make a fool of yourself when trying to sound sophisticated, I would almost put you in the same category as Dude, but at least he sounds intelligent and can make a good argument most of the time. As far as Dump goes, any halfwit knows his posts are solely to get someone's goat. If you take him seriously, seems you do, then your something less than a halfwit.

If I were a coach I’d want nothing to do with this policy. Once a kid wants to quit you want them to leave ASAP. A kid that doesn’t want to be on the team more often than not becomes a problem.

One of the biggest half wit posts in the history of ncoast.

I have never heard of a school telling a kid he must miss scheduled events in his winter sport because he quit the fall sport.

All they have to do is say they hit their head and they have a headache and are dizzy, nauseous, etc. I see it every year. Football team isn’t doing so well and a kid who doesn’t love playing, maybe he’s got a winter sport and he plays the concussion card.

Terrible card to play. You only have three of those in your deck.

We’ve given them a get outta jail free card. I’m not saying concussions weren’t being missed. I’m not saying we shouldn’t make strides to improve game safety and player health. The pendulum has swung too far the other way. Wussification.
I hope the primary b-ball players don’t decide not to play. Football will make them better basketball players especially as physical as the game has become.

Fanofthegame on point,,, in that last sentence especially. I think the kids out there will absolutely benefit from playing football. Different motor skills and different muscle groups getting work to make the whole athlete better.

In fact, they love it and are ecstatic they decided to play. Furthermore, they plan to finish their HS careers playing football in the fall. The only reason this nonsense is being discussed is because Jacka$$ Filmore put it out there as speculation.....without having a clue, as usual.
