I like Bellevue, followed by Shelby. I think Norwalk and Ontario will battle for the 3rd spot. After that, it gets a little hazy...

Did Norwalk lose their entire coaching staff, I have see atleast 3 positions posted on ohsaa since decemeber? A couple of the coaches have moved on for personal reasons and they had one coach fill in last season as one that was hired left after a few weeks due to a job conflict. I'd recently heard at least 2 of those were filled but I don't have conformation of that.

It would seem fitting the 2 most tradition-rich schools while in the NOL would finish 1-2 in its last season.

this being my first post be easy on me on my predictions. I see it this way, 1st. Bellevue- They have the tradition and a great coach along with a lot of their players back. 2nd. I see Shelby there. they have been improving each year with the coaching staff there and they are getting more kids believing in them by coming out like the old days. 3rd. I see Norwalk, coach mac. has brought back the pride in the kids. they have been near the top since his third year and I think last year if it wasn't for all those injuries they might have been maybe in 2nd. place but since that happen he has a lot of players who gain some varsity experience. 4th.- I think that I would put Sandusky here because they have at least their coaching staff back. 5th. 6th. and 7th. should be a toss-up since TC, Ontario, and Willard have new coaches. if I have to pick it would be Ontario since they have Hawkins as a coach but he can only do so much with talent they have. TC also with a new coach he is going to bring in new idea's and that's going to take time for the kids to learn. Willard also with a new coach and idea's, even though he is getting kids out for them team that I hear, but most of those kids haven't played football since maybe their middle school days or even the thunderbolts days. I looking forward with excided and sad heart on the NOL's last days, I remember the traditions from days gone by and those wonderful games by playing in 5th. and 6th. grade and middle school days before moving to Western Reserve and playing there but I remember my youngest son playing his high school days in the NOL. I am glad to be aboard and hope Willy and Scooter be kind to me.

dfa, I'm normally kind to everyone even though I may not agree with them.
I'm hearing practices have been going well at Ontario. They may be better than many predict.

I think Tiffin will be much better than expected. Although they'll be young, they will be a much more disciplined team, and way more focused. Lutz is already instilling discipline and commitment from these young men. I'm excited to see what they'll bring to the table.

scooter, I think you mean practice for 7 on 7. I thought that team practice can't start till sometime in late july or early august. I maybe wrong on that since I been out of coaching for 3-4 years.

From June 1st to July 31st schools are allowed 10 days of practice. That includes 7 on 7 camps and any type of practice involving any kind of instruction or structure.

Thanks caughtinlimbo, boy time has change since the last time I played in high school about 45 years ago. Back then (as my sons say before the dinosaurs) we were not allowed to be around a practice field.

Lutz is already instilling discipline and commitment from these young men. I'm excited to see what they'll bring to the table. I've heard this from multiple sources as well, as far as bringing back discipline and commitment. From the first game after Gilbert's retirement, to the last game of Colagtrulio's tenure, you could see a slow and steady erosion of those qualities. Colagtrulio did a fantastic job at TC up until last season (I don't hold the 2014 season against him at all, given the monumental number of injuries to his upperclassmen), but IMHO things were slipping because of the aformentioned qualities slipping. Judd is a Coach Gilbert disciple, and he will restore those things first thing. Hopefully the talent catches back up to the discipline and commitment.

I heard some rumblings on the new DC hire for TC. I won't offer any names because I have no idea if this individual wants it out there. But IMHO it's a great hire. Additionally, he should already be coaching a TC athletic team, but that's for another day.

I think Sandusky will suprise some people, they have a ton of skilled positions coming back. In addition, I think they have the best lineman coming back in the league with Jamez Young. Also, you will see a freshman in the backfield alot this year as he will take his lumps but this freshman is a STUD and might be the best pure athlete I have ever seen. However, I think it comes down to Shelby and Bellevue. I say Sandusky finishes 6-4 again.

Middle school kids always look like STUDS, until they get to high school, where the other kids have caught up to them. Hopefully this is true though, would be nice to see the Streaks relevant again.

I'll be honest; I see 0-3 to start the season, and then Lorain looms later in the year. That means they have to run the NOL table.

www.ohsnonline.com/page/show/2636044-northern-ohioOur NOL pages are up and ready for 2016. We are working hard to complete all the NW Ohio league pages (most of them are done). Feel free to check out the league/team pages, vote for teams who you think will win leagues, how many games each team will win and stay tuned this Fall for great coverage of NW Ohio H.S. Sports.

Can't remember what division they were in last season but I see Willard is now in D-VI. One thing they got going for them though is that they are the biggest school in the division so they should be able to roll to the state title game.
They could probably go 4-6 and get into the playoffs.
