Why did the Browns promote him from RB Coach to Head Coach?
This guy just lost 31-3 to the San Francisco Male 69ers.
Gregg Williams is laughing

Gregg Williams had no chance at this job, too many guys on the team simply didn't like him (regardless of the results). I'm guessing Dorsey/Haslam were looking for some continuity and the offense seemed to click when Freddie was promoted, so they stuck with a known entity. I do like Freddie from the standpoint that he doesn't hold back and tells you exactly what he's thinking. But the play-calling has been odd and inconsistent at times. And our defensive front 4 is vastly over-rated and cannot get pressure without blitzing, which is a recipe for disaster when your starting corners are both out with hamstring injuries. Oh, and the offensive line is below average (that's not on Freddie).

Greg Williams tried covering running backs with defensive ends, put our safeties a mile back, and gave up 20 yards every time a screen was called. Not to mention the defense he runs with the Jets sucks. Kitchens hasn't been good, but if we had Greg, we might have lost the locker room by now.

*yawn* still think the Browns will win the division but if you are looking to blame someone how about blaming the guy that PROMOTED Freddie and then traded our best guard for a wideout we didn't need

I've watched a little the Giants this season and they are pretty bad but really banged up. Interesting tho is Peppers actually looks pretty good when the dumb coach doen't ask him to line up 30 yards off the ball. I'm sure you are being sarcastc bighoss but Kevin Zeitler is the guard Torch was talking about for those confused.

Peppers whiffed on a big 3rd and 3 last night right before the half, Boselli was ripping him on the Westwood One broadcast lolz.

Zeitler was traded for Vernon (who has been garbage). Sorry you can’t handle being corrected. I’ll let you live in your own little world

Freddie look completely lost out there. His clock management is poor at best and the team looks very undisciplined. IMO.

Time for Freddie to go. He's not head coach material.

Like to see Belichick with some of the talent on the Browns roster.

Time for Freddie to go. He's not head coach material. You gotta play the season out. The weak part of the schedule is coming up. If they finish 9-7 or 8-8, I think that gives Freddy another year or 2. He might improve.

Could there have been a more stark contrast in coaches the the NE/Browns game yesterday? The only question is who made a worse coaching hire this season Cin or Cleveland? At least in Cincy's case you know that Brown just went with the cheapest available option. Dorsey actually convinced himself that this guy was a better hire than Williams.

Nobody in the NFL is hiring Gregg Williams as a head coach. He’s blacked balled because of bounty gate. Also he’s a complete jack wagon. With that being said the Kitchens hire looks bad. No discipline from his team and he tries to reinvent the wheel

I'm a Kitchens apologist, mostly because I watched Hue Jackson for years.
However, some of the stuff he's been doing has me scratching my head.
The challenges, and then not having challenges left for crucial challenges. The "score here, hold them and score again before half" mentality against the Seahawks. That HB delay call a few games back.
I give him somewhat of a pass on some of the penalties. Don't get me wrong, I do think all the penalties are a reflection of the coaching, but at some point, some of these players need to do their jobs.

I know the head coach has bigger things to worry about, but when your two best WR's who are making a ridiculous amount of money and are wearing shoes that they straight up know are not gonna fly with the NFL and will have to change at halftime,,that screams of lack of discipline in the ranks.Heads are not in the game . I mean, like the announcers said but didn't need to say---"there's a reason a team with talent like this is 2-6." You almost feel sorry for the guys who are actually putting everything they have mentally and physically into winning but have self centered team mates who wanna be clowns.

I think he bought into the teams hype to much and thought he was going to live on easy street this year. You have to actually coach in the NFL. Time to send him packing.

Nice to beat the Steelers
....but it looks like Myles Garrett is about to be game for a while. What a ridiculous and pathetic way to end a game.
