I remember Wauseon playing New London in Fremont, 1994. Ross, led by Woodson, had a pep rally that night for their game the next night vs. Massillon.
At any rate, I'm fascinated Bellevue received higher seed over Clyde and got in over Clear Fork; 2 schools Redmen lost head-to-head. I'm happy for Bellevue, but could understand some resentment from other two if arriving to fruition.

I think Clyde got the easier draw. No resentment there😋

Bellevue got in over CF due to overall teams being higher Divisions. Higher doesn't necessarily equate quality; which Harbin initially designed.

This will be Bellevue's first game on grass this season (unless Wauseon has installed turf since the last time the Google Maps satellite imagery has been updated)

There is a grass practice field, yes. Not sure how much the varsity uses it normally, but I assume they'll be on it this week.

Wauseon seems to be a passing team. Almost reminds me of Shelby from a few years ago. Bellevue has struggled with those types of teams. Clyde and Tiffin did well against the Redmen with the short passes. Bellevue definitely has them on strength of schedule. Defense wins this game. Its gonna be interesting.

That’s what has me concerned. We play too soft in the secondary 7+ yards off the ball and our corners first move is a back peddle. We make zero adjustments in the backend either. Clyde figures out how to attack us and when we did stop the run setting up 3 & 6 or so they had the short passing game we just couldn’t stop. I don’t see the staff changing anything this late in the year so it’s definitely a concern if your hoping to make it further into the playoffs.

I’m very familiar with the Wauseon program. Bellevue has a tough go of it this game. In this case their best defense is a slow methodical offense. Wauseon can’t score if they don’t have the ball.

I went to this game last week and I would say what hurt Bellevue more than short passes was it seemed like they couldn't get the run game going. I think Bellevue will win this game is a close one this week. Really a good first round match up. Will come down to who will be able to run the football and who gives up least amount of big plays.

Does anyone know if the starting center/kicker will play this week? I would doubt it. Pretty sure he was one of the 2 kids we had resting their knees on one of these things last week:

I agree the running game wasn’t there but tell me how many times Clyde punted? U have to be able to stop someone and when the Redmen stopped the run those passing lanes was wide open

Dont want to harp on this passing thing. But wauseoan lost to their rival school 38 to nothing and still had 245 yards passing. Something like 70 yards rushing. Big will can you enlighten us. No running back? Passing 60%? I'm way curious to know more cant find much online.

U have to be able to stop someone and when the Redmen stopped the run those passing lanes was wide open they punted 5 out of 9 posessions if I remember correctly. because I was surprised they didn't turn the ball over to be honest. Clyde had done that in the last few games. Regardless, Bellevue is going to have to get the quarterback this week and play well in the secondary to win the ball game if Wauseon is as big of a passing team as you all say.

Slight mistake in that article stating that Bellevue went to the State Semis the year we beat Wauseon (2015), the Redmen lost in Regional Final against Bishop Hartley that year

This is my first time here, as I was unable to make the trip in 2015. This place looks like a mix between Willard and Skiles Field, with Whitney Field's locker room/concessions building.
