D5 Region 18 Semifinal - 7pm Saturday at Millbury Lake
These two will be playing for the first time since their streak of 16 straight years of playing each other ended after the 2016 season.

This should be a dandy. Fremont?

Fremont would be my first guess, followed by Lake.

I think it is a toss up for location between Lake and Fremont Ross. Lake obviously a little closer to Eastwood and Ross a little closer to Oak Harbor. Both great venues. I'm hoping for Lake because of the parking and newer facilities.
As far as this game goes....I would say Oak Harbor is the heavy favorite but if Eastwood can control the clock and keep possession of the ball it may be closer than the experts think. Everyone last week was picking Liberty Benton by 2 plus touchdowns and Eastwood came out and beat them by 11 (and that is with not scoring inside the 5yd line at the end of the game). Eastwood had a 17 play, 9 minute drive in the 3rd quarter that completely changed the game IMO.
Oak Harbor is really good though. Their QB/RB combo is legit.

Wonder if Oak harbor is ready for a tight game. No game has been close all year. Lack of competition for sure. Would of been a very good year to nut up and play a lake school?

FWIW they pushed around Bellevue pretty good in their scrimmage. That being said having seen all parties involved I believe Oak Harbor can hang with the lake schools. I don’t think they could run the table in the lake but on any given night they are capable of hanging with those schools for four quarters.

What happened with Rayford? I believe it was marijuana. Told Friday night it wasn't weed. It was his second offense though, first being last year in track. Heard it was vaping.

My younger daughter lives in Orrville and grandkids love the Red Riders. Gotta support our hometown Rockets. OH had a history of playing Eastwood tough. Keep it rollin

Oak Harbor by 3 ... This is gonna be a good one!! oak harbor by 21+ mark my words Oak Harbor will definitely be the best defense Eastwood has seen all year. I think the Eagles can still manage at least 2-3 touchdowns and a field goal. If Oak Harbor is going to beat Eastwood by 21, that means Oak Harbor is going to have to put up 40+ points on them. Not sure if that'll happen. If I had to make a prediction now...Oak Harbor 28 Eastwood 20. But the weather could play an impact on this one. I may change my pick/score later on in the week.

I do think OH should win with Eastwood not having Rayford. I think Rayford is worth 21 points himself, 14 on offense either running and blocking and at least 7 on defense the way he comes up to hit from the safety position plus this pass defense.

Yes, big loss for Eastwood. Another break for Oak Harbor this year. He’s a bigger loss for them on defense than he is offense imo. Eastwood still has the pickerel kid who is pushing 2000 yards rushing this year himself. Rayford was a game changer at safety though and Eastwood has no way of replacing that type of talent.

But offensive a huge loss also, the Blade article said the best one/two punch around. Pickeral is close to 2000 yards and Rayford had 1200 three weeks ago plus Rayford has over 5000 career yards. Will be missed on both side of the ball.
