So Ohio St should of forfeited last week right? That’s what most said about Maryland backing out against their game against the Bucks

BY, "I think they know the answer now." Do you mean Penix WILL be back OR once Tuttle plays the last 4 games of the season, he'll be given the job next year if Penix comes back or not. Maybe Penix pulls a Braxton and comes back and plays WR. His best shot in the NFL He'll be back, calling the signals next season. Prior to his injury and after the 491 yard display vs. Ohio State, some of my Indiana friends were talking Penix going higher in the draft than Justin....lol Biggest mistake we made is taking our foot off the gas, 2nd half. The good thing, this coaching staff probably learned a lesson. Always play like you are behind, maintaining the intensity and urgency, like the starting moments of every game.

Did you see the Penix completion % in the Ohio State game and the season? It hovers around 60%, Not good enough to be a high draft choice.
A special team does not have to be told to keep their foot on the gas. GREAT teams will do their jobs to perfection regardless of what play is called, still resulting in moving the ball and scoring. When I played, after scoring a TD and getting the ball back we'd talk in the huddle about being behind and having to score another TD. When in reality we were up by 3 scores, then 4, then 5. That's why we averaged 45 PPG even though the starters played less than 3 quarters. It's a mindset to want to dominate.

They didn't meet the criteria for not playing, they chose not to. According to the Big Ten there is no "forfeit" involved if a team can't play or chooses not to play OR a school doesn't want you to come to their place or you don't want to go to their place.

Lets see the tests! No positive tests 4 days ago before the Penn State game?? All players are to be tested the day of games. They decide on Wednesday? Go with who you've got. This is the best way for Maryland to finish with above a .500 record this year. Let’s see the tests!

Canceling the Illinois game was not the best way for Ohio State to play in the Big Ten Title game or make the 4 game National Title playoffs. Let alone finish above .500. By not playing Illinois Ohio State had everything to lose and nothing to gain. EXCEPT, not playing the next 2 games or possibly the rest of the season. Do more and better research and become learned.

It's really hard to make judgement on the decision to forego the Illinois game, without being privy to all the factors involved. As tight lipped as they continue to be, my guess, it was a damned if you do and damned if you don't, kind of thing.
I'm leaning more on the logic that they were looking at a serious reality, playing could have far worse repercussions that could gut this team and end the season.

People were quick to judge Maryland for not playing the Bucks. Heck some people speculated that Indiana would cancel just so they wouldn’t have to play. Can’t have it both ways

To be believed you're going to have to show us where you said, "may of[sic] saved their season by not playing". BTW, if you spoke proper English you would HAVE said, "may HAVE saved". "Of" is a preposition which express the relationship between a part and a hole. The verb HAVE is correct usage in conjunction with the verb "saving", in this case showing past tense. Study a bit and become learned. Pick at me and you will picked back correctly.

Game on for Saturday. That's good news. Step 1-----Beat MSU Step 2-----Play and win next week, either against Michigan or a replacement team if Michigan cancels Step 3-----Win BigTen Championship game
That gets us into the playoff I would think

Don’t really think playing Nebraska again does anyone any good. Why not just shift around some games? Have Nebraska play Rutgers and OSU play Maryland

Have Nebraska play Rutgers and OSU play Maryland If Michigan cancels I think tOSU should play the best conference team available, whether we already played them or not. I'm fine with shifting around games if possible. I want tOSU to have the best chance for the playoff and that means 7-0 with a conference championship. The conference championship is window dressing so the voters cannot say "They didn't even win the conference".

Best that you not try to compete, your hole is getting deeper.

According to Detroit Free Press late Friday, scUM officials are "very pessimistic" about being able to play TOSU. Seems some scUM players had family Thanksgiving get togethers and others celebrated with other team members in groups which team officials had discouraged. And here I thought scUM was such a smart, elite school that attracted only the top scholars etc that's why they cant get the same athletes as TOSU which supposedly has lower standards. But, kids will be kids, especially if you have nothing to really gain by playing the Buckeyes.

Denying something that all others know is stupidity is a waste of time. Thanks for playing. Your lack of originality is embarrassing for you.

We know Justin Fields, Wyatt Davis, Chris Olave, Shaun Wade and Garrett Wilson are all active for today. But there’s also talk that the O-Line has been hit hard. Should know for sure any minute.

From bucknuts:
Half of the starters unavailable are on the offensive line, where left tackle Thayer Munford, center Josh Myers and right tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere are all out. In addition, one of the top backup offensive linemen, Paris Johnson, is out.
Sources have informed Bucknuts that many of the players who are unavailable today did not necessarily test positive for the virus. Some of them are not playing even though they tested negative, due to contact tracing (meaning they had extended exposure to someone who did test positive).
With three starting offensive linemen down, the best guess is that sophomore Harry Miller moves from left guard to center. Or perhaps true freshman Luke Wypler will be the starting center. Sophomore Dawand Jones will likely be a starter at one of the tackle spots. Other candidates to move into a starting spot today will be redshirt freshman guard Enokk Vimahi, third-year sophomores Matthew Jones and Max Wray, redshirt freshman Ryan Jacoby, or perhaps one of the true freshmen.
Other starters (including occasional starters) that are out are fifth-year senior middle linebacker Tuf Borland, junior safety Josh Proctor and junior defensive lineman Tyler Friday.

OSU was planning on playing and being able to win at Illinois without Day. After losing some more players, they obviously didn't think they could win with the players they had available. Doesn't the 21 day rule mean that they don't think they could win the next two games either, and would cancel also? I don't really know, just trying to understand all this B.S. They have more positives than the Big Ten minimum. Has nothing to do if they thought they could win or not. Also the game with Michigan St likely off unless tests come back as false positives Still think that after seeing which players they lost? Cancelling because it was the "right thing to do" was because they were not sure they could protect their most valuable player or even win with no opportunity to get the backups ready.

Well if your theory is correct then you can’t put fault in any school that cancels a game. Also why play at all if you are worried about someone getting injured? If they can’t beat Illinois with 4/5 star backups then there are more problems than Covid to worry about. It’s a messed up year. Nothing is right or wrong at this point. The blame should be on the Big Ten and delaying the season

Under the circumstances, that was a great half for the Buckeyes.
