Sorry to see Ibraham go down. He has been tough on the Buckeyes tonight but never want to see anyone injured. Hopefully nothing serious.

The OL is coming off the ball and blowing holes. I want to see Treyveon on a bubble screen, he is so elusive in space, could be to the house. Well done!

Defense still has a lot of work to do overall. Too many guys running wide open almost every play.

I don’t care how many guys on defense are banged up or not there, we saw this all last season too. They just have to get better somehow.

We have to get that secondary squared away, I’m not worried about Oregon throwing 400+ on us, I’m worried about Pennix and the Hoosiers doing that.
Stroud appeared to get more comfortable and he is learning his way. He has a long way to go, but I have faith in him. I do want to see his pocket presence get better.
Absolutely not worried about any other aspect of the offense.

A few take aways…
Stroud struggles throwing on the run. I know it was raining but his throws on the run weren’t even close. When he was set he looked way better.
Teague needs to be 3rd string. He just doesn’t have that rb knack. Williams and Henderson way better.
Defensive line needs to get more pressure. There was the 1 strip sack but other than that did they get any sacks?
Way too many minnesota players running wide open on plays, seems like a lot of OSU guys were lost. Inexperience maybe?

This was a real test against very tough and determined Gopher team.
Their defensive front was wearing down in the second half.
The Buckeye OL protected Stroud all game long.
The secondary is a work in progress....scary at times.
Kudos to prognosticator Brady Quinn, who picked Minn. over the Buckeyes by 14.....well, you got the 14 right, Brady.

Do not bet against Ohio State and the spread. Since Day has been the head coach, Ohio State is the best team in the country at beating the spread, better than 80%

Luke Wypler stepped in and did a superb job snapping the ball and maintaining his blocking assignments. Only one bad snap that I saw and it was handled well by Stroud.
Defensively, there was a good rotation of players at most every position, giving the opportunity to further analyze performances and production. Think Al Washington has the LB department in check. Our worst fears were witnessed in the young, inexperienced secondary. Matt Barnes & Kerry Coombs have a project on their hands and hoping to see continued development and improvement week to week. Isolation plays showed a glaring lack of technique, usually attributed to inexperience. Could have been many more flags dropped, than what we witnessed. I'm withholding judgement on this great area of concern.
Offensively, there is good clarity at most every position, especially at RB, where Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson confirmed everybody's expectations. Fully expect Master Teague III to slide down the depth chart and see less touches. It will be interesting to see how Marcus Crowley and Evan Pryor fit in the scheme of things, moving forward. Stroud did not disappoint, showing cool confidence and leadership, however someone on here pointed out, a couple key passes would have found their target, had he set his feet. Good to see Jeremy Ruckert on the receiving end of some key passes at critical moments.
Kicking game was consistent, allaying any uneasiness we may have had.
Bottom line, we survived a season opener that had 'trap game' written all over it, in this most intimidating and hostile environment.

If the off line dominates like it did vs minnie, secondary problems are mitigated alot. OSU will tear apart teams offensively if the line plays like that -- was Stroud ever touched??

Stroud was pressured a few times but I don’t think they ever really touched him. When was the last time we didn’t have a single sack against us? With this o-line and Williams/Henderson, we should be able to have a hell of a running game.

Who ever commented the Gophers were ready to go “hit the nail in the head.” They played lights out for the most part. I believe that is potentially a 9-10 win team if their running back can get back in the game.
This was a good opener for the buckeyes and will help prepare them for the atmosphere of Oregon.
That defense will be a work in progress, the offense will just have to outscore their opponent for the time being.
I think the LB’s could be a great asset this year and it’s been awhile since I’ve been able to say that.

I, for one, will be pulling for the Gophers the remainder of the season. Brady Quinn was basically mute throughout the post game show. Too much humble pie for dessert....lol I'll be working the Perch, Peach, Pierogi & Polka Festival in Port Clinton Saturday for the K of C's. Consequently, going to miss the PSU/Wisconsin and the Indiana/Iowa game.......nuts! I like what the Big Ten is doing this year, with prime-time matchups out of the gate.

Coombs is an emotional guy and that serves him well in many ways but calling defenses when you're geeked out your mind doesn't strike me as one of them. I heard him speak at a clinic when he was still at Colerain and he said that if they could get their hands on twenty opponent game films that they would watch them all. That's great, unless you try to impart all of that to the team. Too many times when you try to take everything away from a team you wind up taking nothing away. I know that OSU gets top-tier athletes so some of them are going to leave early, that disrupts things when you need to plug in a kid sooner than you expected, but the secondary thing puzzles me. Overall I say that perhaps it's time to put the Tackling Wheel on the shelf for a practice, the tackling bordered on embarrassing at times. There's a balance between keeping guys healthy and getting a run-oriented team tackled.

I could have sworn he said he was going against the others and picking the Gophers by 14, to which all the others were looking at him with surprise on their faces. Thanks for setting me straight! That's going to be a tremendous loss, effecting their offense and their season expectations from here on out. What a bummer!
