like I said, unless something changed within last couple years... i never remember it like what your saying? 2018. #8 Rocky River defeated #1 Clyde, this assumed that bracket. They played #4 Norwalk following week in North Ridgeville ad the Home team

unless something changed, Edison takes over Bellevue'd seed/upper bracket. don't think it works that way.... Edison is 16 seed throughout the regional.. they will travel for however long they last.. That is correct. Received a text msg from our A.D. I'm announcing a homegame next Friday night.

like I said, unless something changed within last couple years... It changed last year. High seed hosts. No more "top of the bracket" idiocy

They played #4 Norwalk following week in North Ridgeville ad the Home team Yes, because then it was highest seed received a first round home game. with 1 vs 8 being top bracket and 4 vs 5 being bottom half of the top bracket.. the top bracket was going to be home team during the next round at a neutral site.. even though the higher seeded team was still in that case norwalk.. now that we are doing home games thru the region its higher seed hosts...

This has got to be the worst loss in Nasonti's career. I'll bet they'll be calling for his head at the Bellevue Donut Shop tomorrow. Are they gonna start luring Santoro away from Perkins now.

i like to give wtol 11 a big thumbs down on the highlights. they showed only bellevue scores and no edison scores. i know we are on the east edge of wtol viewing area, but being one of the big upsets in the state they would show highlights from both teams.

You realize Edison is 65 miles away from WTOL headquarters? I don't believe they are in their coverage area, whereas Bellevue likely is. Get a Cleveland station to pickup Edison coverage. Chargers are kind of in no man's land unfortunately.

13abc Action News had good highlights of that monumental upset last night. We don't get WTOL 11 with Buckeye Cable anymore, for some ridiculous reason. I prefer to watch WTOL 11.

13abc relies on BCSN, which is part of Buckeye Cable, for their sports coverage. WTOL used to partner with BCSN but channel 13 made them a better offer.

#1 losing to a #16, can't think of a better coach to take one on the chin. sometimes you get what you deserve.

I personally still do not like 16 team playoffs. I think it should be top 8, Or whatever the Coaches Association thinks it should be. The OHSAA should do more listening, than serving their own egos, These Coaches know a lot more than anyone from that OHSAA.

COVID and bad decisions have put them in a financial corner. I agreee 16 is too many many because 16 games to win it is too much.

Ed must be sick this morning. Moral of the story is don't sleep on anyone. Yep. He definitely got out coached this week. The team came into this game flat and lethargic, then got punched in the mouth right out of the gate and didn't know how to respond. I guess the rematch and 1 vs 16 factors got to their heads and made them complacent, and maybe there was a bit of shell shock from last week. This was also a bad matchup for Bellevue schematically, and I was hoping to get paired with anyone but them out of the teams that were hovering in the 13-18 range as the last couple weeks played out. The Chargers have a good run defense, and both teams want to control the clock and shorten the game, and that leaves less opportunity to comeback if you are off your game. Edison made the most of their possessions and the times that Bellevue came up short just helped run the clock for Edison. By the time Bellevue decided to start passing the ball it was too little too late (after going down 2 possessions in the 4th)

We limit the number of pitches a high school kid can throw because they are skeletally immature and injuries can result, but we’re ok with a 15-17 year old state champion playing more games than a college player. Heck it’s almost a professional regular season.
If it’s about the kids now we’re punishing a kid who is basketball first, but enjoys football too.
Then, as many have mentioned, there is the participation ribbon feel when a team under .500 makes the playoffs.

Maybe Bellevue will invest in a legit kicker. Going for 2 will haunt Ed for a while. Bellevue looked horrible. Chargers came in ready.

Maybe Bellevue will invest in a legit kicker. Going for 2 will haunt Ed for a while. No it won't, for 2 reasons. 1. It hasn't in the past when it was actually the reason for losing. 2. It wasn't the reason we lost this particular gane. We were 2/3 on conversions. 22 points on 3 TD's instead of 21. If anything he's lamenting that we didn't go 3/3 and win 24-23. The place where a lack of kicking game hurt in this game was that Bellevue's 4th and long in the red zone resulted in a turnover on downs while Edison's resulted in a FG that turned out to be the difference in the game.

You realize Edison is 65 miles away from WTOL headquarters? I don't believe they are in their coverage area, whereas Bellevue likely is. Get a Cleveland station to pickup Edison coverage. Chargers are kind of in no man's land unfortunately. Back when I was in 4th & 5th grade... in the late 70's and early 80's... we lived in the Berlin-Milan school district. This was before cable TV was widely available, especially in the rural areas. So we were 100% on antenna, and we didn't have anything up in the air outdoors. We managed to pick up both Cleveland's and Toledo's stations every day. We could also get WAKR-TV23 out of Akron. We watched WTOL-TV11 and WTVG-TV13 (then an NBC affiliate, and WSPD before 1979) all the time, and preferred them to the Cleveland stations. None of them really provided news for our community unless it was a really big story. I remember we used to throw up a cheer when we got mentioned. Since DTV came into play, the direct-receive coverage areas are smaller and and so picking up some of the lower power and/or more distant stations on antenna just isn't in the cards. Shame that Buckeye dropped WTOL. Interesting to note, back in the antenna days, when the bands were up we could also get the occasional VHF station out of Detroit, Columbus, Pittsburgh, and Windsor, and sometimes even some of the closer UHF stations like out of Youngstown and Mansfield. Back then it was really cool to see what was on these other stations. Okay, I'm finished with my old fart story. Time for my nap.
