Congratulations!
Ironic these 2 Coaches were alums who were QBs. Actually, it's refreshing to see alums leading Sandusky Football and Basketball

Fresh blood getting more kids involved, which is common with a new coach. Sandusky has broken weightlifting sessions into two group because of high numbers in weight room. Hearing close to 90 kids, which is a good problem, will see how many get to the football field.

I know plenty of people who played in the 60’s, usually 80-100 players was average and a few years were they had 115 or so. Not as many as I would have thought being the high school had 2000 kids in it back then. To have 85 at the weight room,‘especially with a school currently around 750 is great.

When I was in school late 80s, Sandusky had 60 on its Roster. That would be 60 Seniors/Juniors.

Thanks streaknation- As a young boy I was able to walk from MacArthur Park to the Strobel practice field and thought that there were a lot of players. Those were the days of two separate freshman teams and I believe that they had more than one JV schedule as well (?). You had to be a very special sophomore to make the varsity roster. Another thing I recall was on Thursdays the marching band would march down the street as they rehearsed the Friday show and when they reached the practice field they would stop to play the fight song, as I understand it the coaches would stop practice as the song was played then applauded the band. Man, that had to be cool. Different times.

Larry Cook reminded me of the late Leonard Rush of Lima Senior. Both guys knew how to relate to their players and kept their schemes simple in order to let the players play fast.
