41-2 at halftime is unbelievable. without a press.. ontario had good looks, but couldnt hit a shot ... running clock in 2nd qtr.. Ontario just hired a new head coach to replace Balogh. H comes from Mansfield Madison with a 9 year coaching record of 79-129. He must have taken some of his shooting workouts with him to Ontario.

When Ontario's Varsity team got off the bus and walked in, When they saw the (JV) scoreboard, The looks on their players and coaches faces was Priceless.

Historically Ontario has always been tough. I was shocked by the Freshman score, Then I walked in and saw the JV score. Very surprised by the Varsity game. Huron did miss a lot of shots too. But, stunned by how awful Ontario looked.

But, stunned by how awful Ontario looked. usually that score is the other way around.. we did miss a bunch. Dylan finished with 21, and did not play in the 4th quarter..most of the starters didnt play 4th quarter. that jv game..it was more or less..shoot miss we grab the board outlet...layup... then in the half court they gave us 3 after 3..and kids made them.. but they for their life could not hit a shot.. felt bad for them..

Also remember in the early 2000s when Ontario had Benji Hall and they just manhandled Huron. Hopefully Huron can keep getting better each game and build on this win. Will be a tough game next week against Edison.

No it won't. Huron will kill Edison too. Alot of the attention is on the fact that Ontario got beat so bad, but I feel people aren't cognizant of how good Huron is going to be this year.

Because of so few Seniors and Juniors of any quality, what would be Ontario's JV starters are on the varsity. The players who would be starters on the Freshman team are on the JV team. AND none of the Sophomores on Varsity are good enough to be varsity players and none of the Freshmen on the JVs are good enough to be JV players. Three Varsity starters are Soccer players, they don't work on their basketball skills out of season. As soccer players are allowed to play organized Soccer year round. They've never had a soccer player even play basketball before. The JV post last year didn't go out this year, due to being the soccer goalie this year, he's playing soccer year round now. The varsity only has one player on its roster than can hit 25% on 3-pointers. The Varsity only has one post player and at 6-5 230, should be a full time football player, but only went out for football one year. On the condition he could play WR. ROFL.
Those Ontario teams you mentioned that had their way with Huron? They were filled with studs. I doubt Joe could win a half dozen games this year.

Pump the brakes a little bit. It’s only one game and Huron played a not so good opponent. Kyle Hammond will have Edison ready to play and it’ll be a little bit better of a test for Huron next week.

. I doubt Joe could win a half dozen games this year. My question I guess would be...who would they beat? don't know alot about the teams in the conference for them..but non-conference? thats going to be a struggle.. its sad to see one of Mid Ohio's greats lose some steam...

A lot of good games were played there. One consistency back then was knowing that Wynford and Ontario were always going to be there. The success those teams had was insane. I hope someday that the Districts will be held there again.

Joe had weak rosters in the past and always had more than 6 wins. He would have been able to accomplish the same with this roster. The league alone could have given Joe 6 wins. I'm not saying this team would have won him a district title but I guarantee Joe would not have lost his season opener by 30 points.

And ONLY because he played the likes of Marion Catholic, Mt. Gilead, Cardington, Northmor, Riverdale and Crestline twice. Past rosters were not this weak. The best player on the roster didn't score a point against Huron. They're a bad shooting team, from further out than a layup. And you're the one who ragged on Balogh every year when he didn't win at least 20. Lex only won 4 games last year. Does Joe coach that that roster to 14 wins?

Norwalk beat Ontario today 49-40. Very big gap between the top 3 teams and the rest of the MOAC Norwalk gets their first win and was up 25-8 at half and probably called off the dogs enough to get the win and go home.

Ontario is playing much better. Even with the loss of their best player to a broken wrist in the first game. They're a young and very inexperienced with only one letterman back. The biggest improvement comes from becoming more familiar with a completely different offense and a new coaching staff. There are no "stars" and everyone is learning their roles and playing within the system. Now, with all that said, the wins are coming against teams in the bottom half of the MOAC. Who I did think they'd struggle with. I still don't see them winning a game against the top 3 in the MOAC or a game on their difficult non-league schedule.
